For people who going to China, and wants to find some TF, dont go their retail store, that is crazy, the price are crazy. all you need to do is finding some local toy store.

Spotted the Limited Edition "Year of the Dragon" Ultimate Optimus Prime in a huge shopping mall in Guangzhou, China.

Retail price is 999 RMB (~US$160).

The packaging features a dragon emblem on the topside of the box, instead of the Autobot logo.

The cab's front grills is unpainted red color plastic, which is quite a turnoff.

Honestly I just like the Dragon emblem on it, that's the only reason I'm getting it. Tempted to get the Chinese version and not the US....hmmm...

Any suggested hobby shops in Shanghai? Specifically looking for ones that may carry EZ Collection figures (T-Cracker, Skywarp, etc), and maybe (if they are still floating around) stuff from the Henkei line. Thanks.

    TF in China

Hi guys, I'm currently in Beijing and will also visit Chonqing. I'd like to ask for help on where to find TF here in China. I've only seen some TF Prime and Bot Shots so far. I'm particularly interested in G1. Thanks in advance. :)

My opinion? As someone who has visited China many times, just Don't get your hopes up finding good places for G1 goodies there. You're gonna end up being disappointed. Hong Kong would be a better bet.

Given the pathetic state of this particular sightings thread, I thought I should contribute some meager knowledge based on my recent trip to China.

For retail Transformers and Hasbro Masterpieces, you can find those in the local city's Toys R Us. No biggie really.

Beijing specific info: on my most recent trip I stayed in an area where you can find a lot of old Hutongs (old style houses) . The area is called Nan Luo Gu Xiang, and it intersects a street called Gulou Dong Street. On the later, I saw and visited a number of hobby shops selling Japanese MPs, AM Primes, some old Animateds, and other lines (like movies and limited 3rd parties). I also saw some KO G1s (like the Dinobots).

How to get there? Most direct way is to take the taxi. If you are taking the subway, you want to get down at either An Ding Men Station or Beixinqiao Station followed by a 10-15 minutes walk. I believe starting from sometime in 2013, there will be a subway stop near Nan Luo Gu Xiang itself (I've seen the plans), but based on my own experience, you'll still need to walk a bit since subway stations in Beijing are seldom conveniently located.

Ko shops for example do they sell their toys for same price as they ask for in US dollars or its way cheaper? I doubt a set of ko dinobots in china costs 175 bucks equivalent in rmb

China is different from the US, etc. Small stores don't price tag their merchandises. You need to have a ballpark figure and start bargaining. I didn't have any interest in those KOs, so I didn't ask about their opening price.
