My trip to Seoul and Busan is next week. Thanks, KTRBrickBot. I'm hoping to find some older Tobot figures and see various Korean robot toys. Sounds like it's pretty dry out there.

There is a place in Dongdaemun with several toy markets. And there is one particular store that holds vintage Korean and Japanese toys, such as Brave and Transfomers from the 90s and early 2000s.

Visit Seoul - Changsin-dong Toy Wholesale Market

I went to Yongsan the toy floor, a Lotte Mart, and Changsin dong. If you're looking for transformers and marvel Legends, I say give up. You're not going to find anything special. On the other hand I went nuts buying obscure Korean robots. It was hard not buying more and the prices are so good.

Glad to see you found the Dongdaemun market. I made several trips there, and I remember seeing several rarities I regretted not getting after they were gone the next time. Did you also browse that one store with vintage 90s toys?

I don't think so. I did pretty much every store with robots, but I don't remember one like that. I still have one more day in Korea at the end of my trip so I might drop in again.

Just an update on the scene in Korea:

As others have mentioned, department stores like Emart don’t really have anything. They had some Transformers in stock back when there was a current movie, but they are completely gone now.

Toys R Us in Jamsil doubled in size recently. Unfortunately all they have for Transformers is a bunch of “The Last Knight” stuff.

Some of the shops in Kukje Electronics Center near Nambu Terminal (Subway Line 3) sell Masterpiece Transformers and a few other lines. I can across a Masterpiece Sideswipe, an Ultra Magnus, and a Beast Wars Prime. The Sideswipe and Ultra Magnus were selling for slightly cheaper than they go for online so I decided to pick up a Sideswipe.

Overall, pretty weak selection but it was nice to see some Masterpieces in person.

Edit: Another update after some further searching. Toys R Us in Songdo also has a ton of “The Last Knight” Transformers and nothing else.
Curiously, Electro Mart at Dongchun Station has the trailer for the Wei Jiang MPP10 Optimus Prime but not Prime himself. I almost bought it thinking it was the whole thing (it is selling for ₩140,000 or about $130), but a quick bit of online research convinced me otherwise. They also had a few other (movie-based) Wei Jiang figures.

Finally, War for Cybertron: Siege (and MPM 8 and 9) officially comes to Hasbro Korea! Albeit only the ones shown here. Not even the highly customizable Battle Masters and Weaponizers? At least it's better than nothing.

A lot better than nothing. Thanks for the heads up, I ordered Omega Supreme on Gmarket and potentially saved myself like $80. Still hesitant to cancel my Amazon preorder, so hopefully this gets sent out before October 4, when that order is scheduled to ship.

I'm sure you can cancel that overseas preorder. Omega's likely going to go up from 132,000 to 172,000 KRW after the 2-day sale ends.

Yep, my Gmarket order just shipped, so I went ahead and cancelled the Amazon order. I paid ₩139,000 (so about $115)–much better than the nearly $200 I was paying including shipping and customs from Amazon. Thanks again for letting us know, I would have never expected these would be released in Korea.

I did not expect Starscream of all the offerings to sell out so quickly! I'm not very good at snatching super-high-demand products like HTS exclusives. (due to personal purchase justification debates) I'm uncertain if they'll restock. My longing for one good representative Starscream continues. (Prime and Construct Bot-scream don't count!)

Well, if you really want one I have ordered a ton of Siege Transformers from Amazon. The shipping is usually only $5-10. You can definitely get Starscream for a reasonable price.

As of 2020, Hasbro Korea brought in Siege Sideswipe and MP45 Bumblebee. But who would pay $200 for a cartoon-accurate bug with a kibble-bibble backpack?

Only mega malls carry Transformers now, and only Studio Series and Cyberverse at that. It's a reasonable compromise for Siege and MP to be online exclusives.

This is a pleasant surprise - Earthrise (WFC E) came in early - and all of wave 1!!
...but most of the deluxes and ol 'Screamer sold out already :(

And several new Cyberverse Warriors, Ultimate Armors, and deluxes!

Not only that, but also MP13 and MP36!!

What is this online exclusive renaissance??

Nah, just Studio Series and maybe Cyberverse for the minority of kids. Maybe ER's at department stores and airports?
