    Sogo in Taipei. Nice..I like!

We used to have Sogo in Singapore back in the 90s. Too bad they closed shop & shifted out since then. (Sigh!)

Really appreciate your helping out there, Razerwire!

Would you be so kind as to provide more information on specialty shops (location's very important so that I can make my way there) that carry TFs? I have 5 days there to do a little snooping around!

Anyone else to help me out on this? Really appreciate it & thanks in advance! :D

I haven't been back to the homeland since 1998 or so unfortunately so the only info I get is what my nephew tells me.

He did mention once that there's supposedly a toy shop or section in the Taipei 101 building where he got the Animated twins well before the release here in the States.

Taipei 101 building huh? Sure had heard much about that one. Its one of the MUST VISIT attraction for me then. *Marks it down*

I'd better do some googling to aid me in my hunt for TFs in Taiwan. Wifey's gonna do some shopping over at Shih-Lin Night Market & I'd heard that there's some toy shops located in that area.

Thanks for the much needed help there, Razer! :thumb

We'll be sure to "host" you properly should you drop by Singapore one of these days. We LUV meeting up with our oversea friends. ;)

PS: I'll still be checking on this thread every now & then to see if there's any other valuable information added.

I'm back again & its another 17 days more before I hit Taiwan. :D

*Looks left & right, right & left, left & right again!*

WHY do I feel like Will Smith in this thread? :cry

What's that show again?? "I AM LEGEND!"

    (Sigh!)

I'm happy to see someone here after a long wait!

With regards to those ROTF Preview figs, wow, that's fast. :thumb

We'll see these on sale in Singapore starting from tomorrow. I'll be reaching Taipei in about 5 hours time & I hope to find some good TFs there. :)

Well, we did enjoyed ourselves there. :thumbs2:

5 days, 4 nights & lots of authentic Taiwan Street snacks like the famed "SUPER BIG" Chicken Chop, Salt Baked Chicken, "Ho Zai Jian", Taiwan Beef Noodles, BBQ Whole Squid, Mango Ice etc, etc... :p

Not forgetting some real TFs action & superb buying! :D

I did my shopping at Wan Nian, TRU at New York New York & Sogo (the one opposite Zhongxiao Guan. Was the name Taiping Yang or something?) Was told that there's no Toys Department over at Zhongxiao Guan.

Can't imagine a shopping centre having NO toys Department, its like the END of the world for me! :lol

Didn't know that TFs are so scarce in your country. Apart from the abovementioned places, we also visited Toy Land at both Miramar & Taipei 101, Taipei City Underground Mall. The only area I missed out was Shih Lin Night Market & Zhongxiao Dunhua where there's a cluster of toyshops. I'll visit those the next time I drop by. :thumb

Was at Shih Lin for 2 consecutive nights but I found one toyshop & it DOESN'T even carry TFs. :banghead:

Nevertheless, its still a good experience except for the lack of TFs in your local toyshops. Was told by the shop keepers that TFs are expensive as these had to be imported from overseas. With freight added on, it arrives at a high price thus making them hard to sell. That's the main reason why out of 20+ shops that we'd visited, only a quarter of those carries TFs. :sly:

    TFs Universe Leo Prime out?

I didn't see that fella at all when I was there in Taipei. I did see Overload though but its going for like NT $799?

TRU actually had a promotion for ROTF figs. Buy any 2 design (BB or Soundwave) for NT $999 so its slightly cheaper than what they were selling for elsewhere.

This is just great, we've not seen the release of ROTF Leader Optimus Prime & there they are, coming out with the gold version! :(

What is this suppose to be? A LD piece or something? :sly:

By the way dude, where do you hail from? Probably thought of catching up with you in real person the next time I swing by Taiwan. I'm looking at year end or something like that & hopefully there's some "travel promotions" offered by then.

Oh you lucky devils there! :lol

We, the members of SG thread, will be joining other forumners (tf.sg) this coming Wednesday for the preview of ROTF held in one of our local cinemas.

Come Friday, TRU will release the ROTF figures during the midnight launch which you probably had caught wind of by now. (The event's being FP'ed not too long back, I think. )

That's how ROTF debuts in SG. :)

I don't know if it's gonna turn out to be a huge box-office hit in Taiwan though. (We were at this cluster of cinemas located in Ximending & all I could see then was people getting all hyped up by Terminator Salvation instead. Obviously, the crowd there doesn't show much of an interest in ROTF. )

OMG, seems that you guys could not escape from the inevitable price hike either.

Let me apologise for my earlier post. You see, I got the Preview screening date all mixed up here.

Keep thinking that we're into 24th of June tomorrow when its only 24th of May hence my apologies. (In case you were wondering how did Singapore gets to watch ROTF this fast.)
