I'm visiting Taipei in April this year, any suggestions on Transformer stores which sell rare toys? Or Asian exclusives? Hoping to find an Mp Rodimus... :D

There's no doubt you'll be able to find a Rodimus, it's just a question of how much it will cost. Whenabout in April will you arrive? You staying in Taipei or elsewhere?

For the life of me, I can't place Guandong. It sounds familiar, but it just isn't clicking.

How long are you staying for? I'd be more than happy to show you around a bit if you (and/or I) have time. There are plenty of places to get Transformery goodness, but if you're coming from the States, the prices will be a bit higher on Hasbro figures than what you'd pay back home.

Quite a surprising find in Ximen a couple weeks back that I meant to post and forgot: The Star Wars shop in Ximen has the Fans Project Crossfire set, Superion add-on set, Knight Morpher Anihilator (sp?) and had a flyer up saying they can order Protector. First time I've seen any FP products on the rock.

If anyone's looking for the Wal-Mart Deluxe DOTM Optimus, check Toys R Us. They also have the trans-scanning series of figures out.

I was hoping to swap or part swap a Windcharger for something Japanese exclusive from the 2008 - 2011

Stuff like TF United, Or the Japanese colour variations Sidearm Sideswipe for example, or DOTM Vortex, or something like that.

If an Asian fan has a shop that they can get stuff on clearance from and is prepared to hook me up (I know there's been some sales especially in specialist toy retailers in Japan ) I might even give a Windcharger for free just for doing me a favour if someone can help me out with a few things at good prices which I pay for with paypal and pay all associated postage and paypal fees on.

One of the toy shops near gate Y20 in the underground mall at Taipei Main Station has a crapload of TF Prime figures, and at good prices too. They had at least 20 each of the Voyager Optimus Prime and Bulkhead figures, going for $799. Deluxes were pretty well stocked too, except for Arcee, who was missing. Deluxes were $699 each. Couple other shops had them as well, but Voyagers were $999!

That was probably at the "Toypark" down there. They generally have better prices than "Toyland". However, with each chain, prices can vary from store to store.
The best Toyland I've found is near 永安市場站。

Yeah, I do believe it was Toypark. I orginally went in to get grab a couple of cheap-o Gundam models to give a couple students as prizes and walked out with the models and an Optimus.

At the Global Mall on the outskirts of Banciao there's a bitching huge Toys R Us and a decent Toyland. Toyland has been charging ******ed prices lately though. They have the TakTom Animated Rodimus (or did) for over $1000 NTD! MP-10 was over $10,000! walked into the TRU there and MP-10 was $8000-ish.

The only place I've seen 3rd party stuff is in Ximen Ding. If you leave from MRT exit 6, head towards KFC. Keep walking along there and it will fork (at a Sony store, if I recall correctly). Take the left fork, then keep walking until you reach a road. There should be a big building on the left hand corner of the intersection opposite you. The first floor is all watches and perfume. There's a shop that seems to specialize in Star Wars stuff on the third floor (I think it's the third floor), but they also have a bunch of harder to find Transformer stuff. It's been quite some time since I've been there though, so I'm not sure what they will have still.

Also, you can try the underground mall at Taipei Main Station. Around exit Y15 or so, you'll start to find a bunch of toy shops, some of which carry Transformer products. Can't recall seeing 3rd party stuff, but I haven't popped into every shop.

Toys R Us was carrying the Jetwing Optimus set and Prime/Jetfire sets a while back, not sure if they still are or not though. You can also try Toy Land, but their prices lately have been for shit.

How long are you staying in Taipei for? If you're here for a couple weeks, shoot me a PM and I'd be happy to show you around.

Are Transformers Prime First Edition toys still in stores there? I was thinking about asking a friend to pick some up and ship a few here since the line has pretty much been cancelled and not released here.

Just a quick update on the Ximen Ding directions.

    Take exit 6 from MRT
    Walk towards KFC
Turn Left @ KFC and stay on the left side of the street.
At the next light, across the street will be the big building rob is referring to. Right now they are fixing the escalators so you will have to take the elevators or walk up the stairs.
The toys / model shops are located on the 4th floor, but they mainly have gundams / models with limited TF selections.

    Only one left turn needed.

Was at the Underground Mall yesterday and checked out Toypark. They have a ton of Prime stuff, with some leftover DotM figures, and quite an assortment of Japanese Animated figures.

Also, there's a tiny shop just up the way that has ton of figures/figurines in it and they had some seriously random TF stuff. I saw some United figures, a random Universe (original Universe, not 2.0) dinobot of some kind, and some other random finds.

I don't often think of this sightings thread, but for some reason have found myself here at the moment.

Toypark has Takara Terrorcon Cliffjumper in (the purple transparent one) as of today.

Saw that at Toyland, too. It was something like $1000 NT. Toyland has become quite the scalper-shop.
