Yes I live in HK and Japan TFA are in stores over here but depends where you go. TRU will likely sell the Hasbro line whereas local stores and online sellers will stock Takara lines.

If you're going to be buying Transformers, go check out HobbyBase. Welcome to Facebook in Mong Kok. They are in Sino Centre, 3rd floor but you'll need to ride the elevator up since the escalator doesn't get there. They open at 3-9pm. They have all the TF you'll need.

 

Hi guys I'm in HK right now and I'm trying to find some hobby shops that sells transformers. Mainly looking for the taktomy stuff. I visited a few TRU and they just have hasbro stuff and mostly shelf warmers. Any tips would be appreciated.

 

You should probably check out the place listed in the post prior to yours. It sounds easy enough to get to right on Nathan Road. The last time I was in Hong Kong was back in spring of 2009, but there was a shopping center right off the Star Ferry landing in Kowloon that I picked a bunch of Takara stuff in. I don't know the name of it but coming off of the ferry, there was a high end mall to your left with a Toys R Us in it and a theater/museum accross the street. If you see the first 7-11 from the landing, it should be in that building on the lower level. These guys actually have two stores, but the other is a bit of a ways away in Shim Shui Po. Good luck.

 

Living in HK I can say, WanChai has a side street with some good selections. Toys R Us are ok. Mong Kok & Yau Ma Tei are good too.

The best place in HK is still the Yahoo Auctions, lots to choose from and easy to deal through. If you can't read Chinese, Google Translate is 95% accurate. Most sellers speak English.

 

Any stores which are good for getting United/Takara Animated/Henkei stuff? I've limited myself to only purchasing Japanese toys  

 

The Hong Kong Yahoo auctions remain the best place to go to. Most are buy now and can be collected same or next day.

 

Toysrus, 吉之島

Toysrus & 吉之島 are good but little bit expensive, In's point between mong kok & yau ma tai is good place. Yahoo is fast & good price. just need to beware of KO version.

 

Anyone know where I can find Shattered Glass Starscream here in HK for a decent price?

Hi guys, I will be visiting Hong Kong on the 29th of dec and i am looking to buy a DA-15 Dark Jetwing Optmus Prime, DA-28 Striker Optimus and Jetpower Optimus Prime. Is there any particular shops that have all 3 available? Thanks for the help!

 

In's Point in Yau Ma Tei or Sino Center in Mongkok might be good places to check. They're normally quite complete.

TF Prime figures are popping up all over HK now FYI. FE have been available for some time now with many Toys R Us having alot of FE Voyagers still in stock.

Cyberverse & Legends are between HK$45 and HK$100 depending on where you go. DLX approx HK$115 to $150 & Voyagers from 200 to 250.

Needless to say, right now, eBay and Yahoo Auctions are hiking prices up while waiting for the full shipments to hit shelves.

 

TFP figures have hit HK in a big way. Dreadwing, Iron, Knockout plus the Takara TFP figures are available en masse too.
