Thanks but it is overpriced at ToyRus.

I managed to order it from Chimungmung and get it delivered to my home for less than it costs at ToyRus.

Anyone know where to pick up Perfect Effect stuff in a store? I recall seeing some PE stuff in eHobbyBase before. Anywhere else?

I'm guessing ActionRobo would be a good option too. They have an active FB page that updates on pre-order and in-stock items.

Thanks unicronic, the last time I was at Action Robo last year, I didn't see any PE or PX stuff there, and their website only lists Warden. It's like RK and Action Robo are in some sort of cold war.

I think RK have a lot more pull with certain third parties due to their global distribution capabilities. They have a fairly large workforce.

SDCC Devi and a few of the Combiner Hunters girls are available at Causeway Bay Toys R Us. The Devi's are way over-priced.

I was in TST Toys R Us today and they had the all of the Optimus Maximus figures available (I picked up Ironhide because I can't resist a red bot with 'tude). Lots of AoE Nemesis Prime (AD-EX) also on shelves although at $549 I'm thinking he is over-priced too. Most of the shelves are cluttered with the RID 3-steps.

On a completely unrelated topic is anyone going to the Star Wars toy launch tomorrow night? (I got VIP tickets so I am hoping to be there)

The White Prime has better leg articulation leading to a more solid combined mode. Worth getting unless they re-issue Red Prime with the same improvements.

If anyone is looking for SDCC Devastator he's reduced to clear at Causeway Bay Toys R Us to $1299, or if you're willing to hit Mong Kok you can find him for HK$999 which is cheaper than the non-exclusive version...

Still scratching my head over THAT one! (but we're very happy with our regular version so won't be bothering with the SDCC one)

hi, i'm new to this forum and am based in HK.

do any of you buy TFs from taobao, and then ship them to HK? how do the prices compare to say the brick & mortar shops in HK? i've only just started buying TFs (though in a relatively big way - have gotten nero rex, MT utopia, mp10, mp13, MT nemesis, etc in a few mths) and they've mostly been on taobao given the ease of online shopping. i didn't know about the HK shops till i read this thread!

    Hi, welcome.

I haven't tried Taobao myself so don't have any insight on this.

My opinion is that there are two kinds of TF collectors, both equally relevant. Those who will aim to get the TF for as little expenditure as possible and those who want it as soon as possible.

If you are the latter I would recommend using eshops like RobotKingdom or Chimungmung who can deliver the next day or day after following an order. Also try Yahoo HK auctions, a good source of what is hot and available.

Also physical shop space is very limited too which means hunting can be frustrating unless it is really new.

thanks, Unicronic, very helpful. i actually visited a couple of shops in wanchai over the weekend and they were all really small and tight as u said.

i'd say taobao is generally cheaper for KO stuff, like reximus prime and mpp10. they seem to get direct stock from the manufacturers.

Hello! I will be visiting HK (Kowloon area) in about a week. Coming from the US. I once visited HK about 18 years ago, and it was amazing.

I did some researching in this thread in regards to places for tourists to check out. But my question is... I really want the 3rd party figure of badcube Sunsurge, and kfc red plastic Transistor. Would I be able to find figures like those in HK physical stores, or should I just order them online?

Best thing to do is check yahoo auctions as many physical shops distribute third party goods there.

I haven't found any one place that consistently sells third party stuff in bulk.

Still HK online stores sell for cheaper often as they wholesale to USA/EU. Worse comes to worse place an order online and save lots of time and shipping.

For 3rd party stuff, head to ActionRobo in Yau Ma Tei (I don't know the exact address - 1st floor of a building half way between Sino and In's Point)... they seem to be the most consistent stockists, especially of the harder to get stuff.
