The sponsors here and the Canadian ones.
Even if it's 500HKD, it converts to 70-72CDN.

Has anyone seen "then and now" Optimus in any of the Toys R Us? I've been to Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui and Tai Koo and not found it yet... loads of Grimlocks in stock at the one in TST... which seems to have drastically reduced its Transformers section disappointingly.

If anyone sees Optimus please give me a heads up.

Not seen it yet but I'll keep any eye out. Have you been to Central yet?

No. I haven't had time to get to the Central Toys'R'Us.
It isn't listed on the Toys'R'Us website either. It is in their brochure though as coming in late August... yet there was a post from someone who picked one up (in HK) a couple of weeks ago in the news. Would they have taken them off the shelves because they were mistakenly put out too early? I can't see that set selling out THAT quickly...

    In other sightings:
I was over in Wan Chai today and was able to pick up Windblade for an extortive HK$250. (My daughter has started collecting the femme-bots) They had a few Nightbeat and Crosscut figures as well (ranging from HK$139 up dependant on store). No Wheeljack though.

I picked up Windblade for $139 in Wanchai. You gotta be quick.

BTW the evolution Optimus pack in on yahoo auctions here:https://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com/hk/auction/1138712484?actsrch=srp3

I picked up MP Grimlock at ToysRus Central and got AOE leader Prime for free. Not bad at all.

I'm undecided on whether MP Grimlock is worth it so I've been holding off getting him. My main focus is Optimus (and to a lesser extent Ironhide). If I start hoarding too many of the characters my husband is going to go berko. ;)

Wow - you were really lucky to score Windblade for that! How many days/weeks ago did you nab her? I'm envious!

Is there a pattern with Wan Chai as to when is the best time to head over there to pick up the characters before the stores themselves realise which ones will be in hot demand? (It was obvious yesterday that all the stores knew Windblade was the bot of choice from the latest set)

I picked up Windblade 1-2 weeks ago. Can't remember exact timing.

Best thing to do is pay attention to RK release dates and check with Yahoo Auctions. If they both say the same thing then you'll know with almost certainty that they will be in Wanchai.

MP Grimlock is impressive. He has been re-released a couple of times and then the scalpers get him. This may be one of the last times I could get him.

Cool. I just find classics Prime to be a bit old now. He looks great but has too much unnecessary kibble.

Toyworld Orion is great and the new Prime looks decent too.

I've never had a classic prime, since I'm such a newbie to collecting, so he's a must buy for me. I have to admit I'm kind of sick of all these evasion mode primes I am starting to accumulate. ;)

I also notice TRU have Rusty Prime (Japanese Version) listed on their site but you can't order him online. He's an evasion mode I actually DO want but haven't seen him on any shelves anywhere.

Funny thing is in the movie Prime is red and blue-ish in robot mode but rusty in truck mode.

True dat. There's a lot about that movie that really just doesn't translate to the toy lines... without even going into the inaccuracies of how they portrayed Hong Kong *grr*. Every time I drive over to Pok Fu Lam I get disappointed I'm not driving into Wushan Valley and I'm still hunting for the bridge to drive off Hong Kong Island that Optimus mentioned. ;)

Back on the topic at hand: My son keeps asking why none of the Drift toys are triple changers. He wants a movie accurate Drift toy which I don't think is coming any time soon (if ever).

And of course he keeps his First Edition AoE Optimus in truck mode because when he transforms it the wheels don't disappear to make it look like Movie Optimus.

I suppose if you put Rusty Optimus in truck mode and stand generic Evasion Optimus in robot mode next to it that's as close as we're going to get to "movie accurate".

Yup. The problem is that Hasbro et al have to start designing these toys well in advance of the movie. This movie all but abolished recognizable vehicle parts of the robots.
Wheeljack is cool but not worth the prices they're looking for. Rusty Prime can rust in peace at that price.

The 2015 Prime will hit the shelves at $250 approx and is a combiner. I'll wait for that.

I agree. Neither Wheeljack or Rusty Prime are worth those prices.
I kind of laughed at the store owner when she showed me the price.

If I find Japanese Rusty Prime in a Toys R Us I will buy it at their list price although I have to say I am really liking the Hasbro one I got in the set tonight.

2015 Prime - is that the re-release of MP10? Or is there another one coming out after that?

2015 Prime is a new voyager Prime. Around the same time a leader class Megatron will be available too.

Haha yeah tell me about it:p  From Shanghai to HK in the time they drove from to day, I don't think so...(unless I am wrong and that drive is doable while boarding a ferry to HK?)
Also this is totally non TF related but being that this is the HK side, I was wondering would anyone be willing to get me some G2000 dress shirts or point out to where I can order them online? I know they used to have an online site where you can buy them online but it's no longer available and I love their style of clothes. PM if you can help or even help me get them! Thanks.

You can drive from Shanghai to HK but it would be like driving from New York to Mexico.
