I understand where you are coming from. I'm going to wait for eps 3 and 4 to be posted :)

In the clips and ending of the previous series Optimus looked like his arm had been severed from his body. Does he have both arms when recovered or just the one?

    Regarding Airachnid:
They dig up her stasis prison cell from the wreckage of the base, and one of the Decepticons comments "So this is what they did with you." That's all I saw of her. As far as I noticed, she never appeared out of stasis in the two eps shown. The characters bringing Megatron the relics from the wreckage were Vehicons.

Just "somewhere," apparently. Fowler and Jack's mom are shown working in some kind of FBI field office, apparently nearby. Jasper is utterly devastated, so how they managed to get anyone out is a mystery.

Because Smokescreen is Hot Rod for all intents and purposes, so he gets to be the overeager helper guy. Ratchet goes to a junkyard and sulks until Raf gives him the "we can't give up" speech. How Smokescreen went back through his ground bridge while Ratchet was leaving the base through his is not clear.

Because it's the only place they all know where to look for one another aside from Bulkhead's "Wreckers always meet at the same coordinates" plan with Wheeljack. Lucky for them the traditional Wreckers' meetup coordinates were about 50 miles away from Jasper and not in Budapest or something.

He does use it to kill a hundred or so military personnel when they send a giant fleet of tanks and gunships at him. Beyond that, it looks like nothing is really there within a few miles, so there's nothing to shoot at.

Megatron haz plannzz, I guess. They don't go into it aside from the one phone call Megatron makes to Fowler.

None of the other Autobots' toys are pegwarmers.

Wheeljack doesn't make a mistake in Episode 2, although you're led to believe he does at first. Jack is the one who makes the stupid mistake in the eps shown.

The shifter and the armor are shown to have survived the fight on Cybertron. The hammer is found in the wreckage of the Autobot base. The spark extractor remains lost.

All is as it should be. Well, unless you're Starscream.

He walks out of his ship and doesn't say anything. Arcee introduces him by saying "Jack, meet Ultra Magnus" and that's it. So he gets a cameo, but his first speaking appearance will undoubtedly be in episode 3.

They drag him out of the wreckage of his ship and torture him for an episode before he "escapes."

Not really. You see glimpses of him in his growth pod and his shadow, like some vast predatory bird, falling over the Decepticons back at Darkmount when Shockwave brings him through the space bridge. His appearance is basically the cliffhanger for the end of episode 2.

The Decepticons find her stasis cell. As far as I saw they did not take her out of stasis.

Quite well, I would say. Everything moves along briskly and there is no wasted time for the most part. As someone who has always considered this show to have some pacing problems at times, this felt a lot more like the old Beast Wars story arc episodes where every minute is packed with plot development. If cutting the season down to 13 eps resulted in basically one big 13-parter, then it was probably the best thing that could have happened to the season.

When the first ep starts, it's been minutes, maybe hours. The Decepticons are sifting through the still-burning wreckage of the Autobot base. Later on Starscream comments that he's been torturing Wheeljack for information for several days, so the first two episodes seem to play out over the span of nearly a week.

    No.

    Yes, a couple.

Yes. Shockwave's survival and presence is a major plot point, as is the existence of the Predacons. Leave Shockwave alone for a few centuries and he does start to tinker.

Not yet, but it's obviously part of some plan. As Starscream says after Megatron's talk with Fowler, "I almost believed you myself."

Yes, she's working with Fowler at a field office. Other than them and the three kids, no humans aside from the unnamed pilots and tank drivers Megatron fries with Darkmount's fusion cannon.

He's up to something, but it's unclear what. Right now his focus seems to be on finding and eliminating the scattered Autobots. When Starscream's plan to track Wheeljack to the Autobots' meeting point fails, Shockwave suggests using an experiment in CNA (yes, CNA is mentioned) he has been working on, which of course turns out to be Predaking.

Not that was shown. The only thing that happens in Starscream's old base is Raf, Bee and Ratchet trying to get the power working again.

I like what I hear so far except that
nobody new shows up until the end of episode 2. I was kind of hoping they'd roll out the new right away, especially Predaking.

    I'm happy to hear that
Smokescreen is actually being proactive in helping Optimus.
    But dissapointed that
Airachnid and her complete waste of a character is still alive and that all the stupid relics are still around. I was really hoping the base exploding wiped the slate clean of that reminder of a wasted season.

    That sounds a bit lame.

It would have been, but it's not what happened.
The Decepticons find her cell in the wreckage of the base, but they do not revive her as far as I could tell.

You could've asked the cast and crew if there's gonna be an Autobot jet joining Team Prime later on in season 3.

The closest to that being asked was when Kevin Michael Richardson (Bulkhead) got up and jokingly asked when the "rumored black Autobot who turns into an Escalade" would be introduced.

No we couldn't of. Questions were extremely limited. The QnA was very short. I can almost bank on no new characters being shown. Because the producers mentioned Shockwave and Ultra Magnus as their 2 characters for the show. Maybe Kel heard something that would make us think differently.

No, I agree that's how it sounded. I still have my fingers crossed for a Trailcutter/breaker appearance, though.

They probably would'nt have revealed anything from the second half of season 3 anyway - seeing as most of the second half is still being made...

Would'nt be suprised if they just go 'screw it' and give you a ton of Autobots and Decepticons in the final episodes. Megatron's plan (Whatever it is) probably includes a Decepticon Army...

    How is
Smokescreen there to care for Prime? Did he sneak in or are the Decepticons forcing him for some reason?

That's the one big question I had, because I didn't quite think it made sense.
Smokescreen explains that when he ground bridged out to his escape point he decided he couldn't abandon Optimus and turned around and went back through the ground bridge. When he came back, the base was already in ruins. He found the shifter in the wreckage and Prime's barely-functioning body, and used the shifter to drag him into a cavern with no external entrance. How he managed to go back through when Ratchet was presumably bridging out at the same time or how the gate could still be open after Optimus smashed the bridge control unit is not explained.

To add to what Kel said. Smokescreen still has that shifter relic. He is sneaking around where the autobot base used to be located. He is somewhere near. He carries Optimus to what seems like nearby cave and is encouraging him, trying to look for medical supplies and tells him he is going to try and find the hammer (forge) relic that will help Prime rebuild himself.

This reminds me that during the Q&A it was hinted by Executive Producer Jeff Kline that
if someone was unable to lead, it would certainly be helpful if someone like Ultra Magnus was around to pick up the slack. Sounds like Prime may be out of commission for a while and Magnus will whip the Autobots into fighting shape in the meantime.
