Oh, yeah, no argument, I'm just illustrating how this "bible to media via writers' interpretation" process works.

Regarding Trypticon being a cannon in WFC, you know, I DID wonder why the warp cannons in FOC looked so Trypticonnish. Makes sense to me now!

Trypticon's size does change quite a bit in-game, but I find it hard to accept he was that small. Megs does say he's planning on fortifying the station in Chapter 1, which I hope explains dat cannon.

Also, the Aerialbots use Jetfire as a guide even when they're inside Trypticon, which leads me to think that he was the station. Or at least a significant part of it. There: this way we're all happy and I don't drive myself crazy trying to figure out the scale inaccuracies! :D

Then of course there's the part about if he was just the cannon, how the hell does that explain you flying out of his mouth as he transforms at the end of the level.

And if he wasn't the station or a significant part of it, what was the point of destroying his cog to make him transform?

He was about to obliterate Optimus Prime. Destroying his T-cog forced him to transform, preventing him from killing the Autobot leader.

Exactly, which if he was just an oversized turret, wouldn't make any sense.

However, if he was the station-sized gun that had just previously been shooting down shuttles, that makes more sense.

Don't worry, SPLIT, Trypticon was the gun that had been shooting the shuttles. If you replay the level, you'll hear Megatron snarl that Optimus is keeping the remaining transports on Cybertron, and thus orders Trypticon to redirect his fire towards Iacon.

That's unfortunate. Aside from the possibility of online shopping, have you checked your friendly neighborhood public libraries? You might be pleasantly surprised at what you find. Give Worldcat a whirl.

With that plug out of the way, I propose that we give up on the notion that WfC/FoC, the novels, and Prime/Rescue Bots are all the same universe. They're very similar, but there are way too many inconsistencies.

I don't blame Hasbro or their content partners too much, though. Continuity is a damned hard thing to achieve. Look at Marvel Comics, which may be the longest running universe in the history of Western fiction. Continuity is always tripping them up and they have to go to great lengths to keep things somewhat in line. (I think that eventually they will be forced to do a full reboot eventually.)

I've no doubt that a cohesive and consistent "Transformers" universe is possible. There are a lot of questions that would need to be answered, though, and the answers would need to be pretty solid. Who knows - maybe we'll get that some day. But this isn't it.

Trypticon wasn’t small though. The Aerialbots fought him from a distance, as did Optimus, Bumblebee and Iron Hide during the final battle. Trypticon was a lot bigger than Omega Supreme actually.

Yes, Optimus appointed Jetfire the leader of the Aerial Assault mission because Jetfire knew the station better than anyone. Upon completing their mission, destroying the coolant pumps and pulse regulator, the Aerialbots and Jetfire can be seen leaving the station through the plasma channel that was feeding Trypticon Energon. Shortly after that, Megatron can be heard giving Trypticon Optimus Prime’s location, and he fires up his rockets to realign for attack—the Autobots enter Trypticon through his energy conduit, as it was still open.

Silverbolt even tells Optimus that they are inside the gun before starting the mission entitled Disable Trypticon.

Since you entered through his @$$, fight your through his intestines and stomach, it makes since that you’d exit through is mouth.

Like the post below yours says, to stop the big @$$ cannon from destroying Optimus Prime!

How does this not make sense? It is what it is. Trypticon was a huge mobile cannon.

At least there are SOME people that see that everything in Aligned isn't supposed to be one timeline and instead different stories taking bits and pieces from the same source to develop themselves...

As for the Nemesis, I've been saying it since the episode aired that the ship hanging up on Ratchet and its revelations of weapons no one knew about solidified some kind of future reference to the incident...but we'll see. Shows sometimes leave stuff behind, but this'll pass something up.

No, you enter into the cannon from where the emerging was being fed about mid-way through the level. Not only do characters constantly mention that you are headed to the cannon after depowering the station fails (because they hadn't realized it was a Transformer), there is a noticable aesthetic difference between being inside the station and inside Trypticon.

And destroying the cog in the cannon (you are no longer in the station at this point) forced him to become unattached to the station and therefore unable to fire anymore.

I really am confused as to how people played through this level without realizing that Trypticon was attached to the station and not the station itself. Its made, very, very clear. You can see it, characters discuss it, there is a very noticeable part in which you go through the station and enter the cannon. Also, the fact that Trypticon is only able to communicate with you after you enter him and not while you were in the station.

You're underestimating just how huge that cannon was; About a third of the level was inside it. And yes, attaching Trypticon is possibly what Megatron was alluding to but in WFC the station was not Trypticon.

I'm sorry, but did you ignore my previous post? Trypticon (tho thought it was just a cannon at this point) was using the Energon Bridge that Starscream directed into the station in order to power up his cannons. Jetfire came with them because they thought that by stopping the Energon Bridge, the cannon would be shut down. After stopping the bridge, they discover that the cannon can work on its own and then travel through the cannon, entering from the back, and are greeted by Trypticon's voice.
And there were no scale inaccuracies as large as you imply; Trypticon was about the size of Omega Supreme, nowhere near the size of Metroplex. If he had been the station, he'd probably have been BIGGER then Metroplex.

Guys, this isn't really something you can debate; Trypticon was not the station in WFC, the end. Yes, it was in Exodus, but you'd have to have completely ignored the entire second half of the level in WFC to say that he was. It is very clear that he is the cannon, not the station. I don't believe so many people have made this mistake, unless people didn't actually play the game and are just getting this mistake from others and it spreading.

Yikes! I was off. But still, fact is fact: Trypticon was a cannon, not a station.

Oh, I know. I totally agree. I've been saying the same thing:D

    EDIT:

I think the reason many, myself included, though these two giants were the same size was because of the first teaser trailer. Things changed when the game hit though, but as these two never came face to face there was no real way of knowing until this image surfaced.

Yes, there is that. Though the credits also show everyone crawling out of little ol' Bumblebee too:p

I wonder if HMS will continue with these big and bigger bosses in future sequels. WFC had Omega Supreme (big) and Trypticon (bigger), while FOC had Bruticus (big) and Metroplex (bigger).

I wouldn't mind if they did, though I'd rather see big vs big or bigger vs bigger:p  Anyway, I'm getting way off topic.

I still think Dark Energon, a substantial amount of it, made the Nemesis sentient in Transformers Prime.

    So there are three possibilities
Nemesis is Trypticon awaken by DE.
Nemesis was Trypticon who became a sentient entity of its own by DE controlled by Unicron
Nemesis is not Trypticon but Nemesis became a sentient entity by DE controlled by Unicron

For the later twos it could be that it was under control of some subconscious drive of Unicron to gather information's from the computer at the ship.

    Im in for number two.

And you could always look at the TF universe as the many worlds theory, with the different stories as different dimensions, with Hasbro as the ultimate omnipotent source of the TF franchise. :)

Transformers today isn't all that different from 1984. The cartoon and comics were always different things, and what's happening now isn't all that different really. Yes, Hasbro has done a little more this time around, creating an origin tale for all to draw from, but aside from having to sign off on ideas and/or changes, Hasbro pretty much let's those behind the pen write the story they want to tell.

Alex Irvine set out to do a complete reboot with great emphasis on the beginning. Transformers Prime crew, began their reboot with the Cybertronian's arrival on Earth. And HMS approached the story with the intentions of making a prequel to G1, and Hasbro was fine with that, so long as they drew from the newly created origin tale.

Using what was given them, HMS has done a pretty good job with the mandate given them. They give nods when they need to, but I'm sure all would agree that the core of their games draws heavily from the original cartoon and comics--best of all they kept the 13 Primes and their godly weapons out of their story:D

I wonder if they'd introduce the 13 Primes over 13 generations rather than all at once, making it feel yet again more like G1. I don't see how that'd be problematic. Prior to Megatron and civil unrest, Cybertron had the Quintessons to deal with after all;)

Anyway, I like option three myself, as Megatron and the others knew the ship wasn't sentient. Who's to say that the ship cannot become Trypticon in the future? I like the idea of Unicron creating life within the ship and Megatron taking it from him, using it for his own ambitions. So long as he as Dark Energon in him and and the means to resist Unicron's will, that may be all that Megatron needs to control Trypticon, should the ship actually become him.

I'm really, really surprised at how much people are going at this. I just figured that the station/cannon/whatever's internals changed because the Aerialbots were moving into the cannon-part, which Megs would understandably have filled with DE.

And, yes, I probably should have said I thought the books, games and show were based on the bible and not each other before. May have saved some discussion.

Not that "being based on the series bible" means a damn when it comes to the Alighned continuity.

My theory so far is that it was some kind of subroutine programmed into Trypticon by Shockwave when he modified him into the Nemesis. As to why his directive went above even Megatron, I believe it may have to do with Shockwave attempting to usurp Megatron.
