I noticed while watching the episode Regeneration which happened before the episode Darkest Hour, Ratchet couldn't pick up the kids, why didn't he bridged them instead? That what I don't understand. Having done that, the kids wouldn't of been captured by the Decepticons and be used as what we could call it "Trade Baits".

The Bridge can only be pointed to one location at once, I don't think Ratchet would use it to pick up the kids when there might need to be an emergency evac/relocation needed for the team on cybertron.
You don't want to occupy your resources (especially fast transportation system like that) during a mission.

Agreed. It's very clear from the season finale that Ratchet cares more about Cybertron then picking up the kids from school. He had no idea that they were in danger, so why not let the kids wait?

rATCHET CANNOT OPEN A bRIDGE, WHERE are too many watchers all around. Sorry, I was playing a game.

Rob, well...It is still a question, who needs Jack more, in the long term and in the end. I just wanted to highlight those points.

I kinda chuckled when Fowler said something to effect of "we evacuated the city of Jasper" (for those that don't get it the city always looked evacuated).

I have a better question why did the kids just wait around school rather than just walk home to begin with. I don't think Jasper is big enough to not be able to get home in walking distance?

Might be, it is a town and neighbouring regions. Not Farms, probably, but something about it. And one school for the whole area.
But, indeed, children were able to get home before the Trafsformers had shown up. It is just a statement, that you get used to better conditions very fast. After you had an alien robot as your personal driver, you don't want to expect nothing less than that.

Because his mind was sent to restore-cybertron-no-matter-the-cost the second he heard the keys function.

I wouldn't say he was being a dick, but he wanted to be a part of the mission as much as possible, and if that meant monitoring the situation from base (children-free) via Ground Bridge duty then that's how it was going to be.

I don't think it has hit him yet that his blowing the children off screwed the team. Say what you will about the children, but remember this: it was Optimus who made them (the Autobots) their guardians. It was Optimus who told them (the children) that life wasn't safe with out their (the Autobots) protection--don't blame the children for wanting the Autobots to pick them up and take them home/to the Autobots' base, Optimus conditioned them for that lifestyle.

Ratchet, being the xenophobe he sometimes is forgot about that or doesn't care much for it. He cares about humans, sure, but he cares more for his people than for the people (and planet) that have adopted him and his brethren:rolleyes:

I probably said this before but personally I believe that Megatron planned this outcome to be a win win (excluding losing his prime arm). If Prime stopped him from destroying Earth, he could rally the troops against him, if he didn't then the Autobots could lose their human allies.

It's a stretch, I know, but it is possible. We're just lucky Optimus snapped while the cons were laughing. :lol

I don't think it's a stretch. He cornered Optimus into a loose-loose deal and didn't seem surprised at all when Optimus destroyed the lock. Actually, he seemed pretty pleased.

If he now can persuade all layers of society, that Optimus Prime it a traitor, the destroyer of their future, that the "Good" is worse than "Evil", he might gain some new powers he has never had before. He could, perhaps.
Anyway, the restoration of home planet is supposed to be the ultimate weapon.

As Prime said, Megatron the savior could gain additional transformers. But might be, it is better for Megatron not to increase his own popularity, but to reduce Prime's.
StarScream, who wanted to join the autobots once, now wants Optimus to perish for that.

It is not like I am expecting somebody. It is what could have happened.
We all saw Optimus Prime telling us about the weapon of mass destruction, some time has passed, and we still didn't see any mass descruction. Caused not by the Autobots.

And Alpha Trion did say that they would journey to a small yet significant planet (Earth) and engage in a critical chapter in the war against the Decepticons. I'd say Darkness rising pretty much had that covered. :D  :lol
