Without reading anything except the original post.

I've been saying I like Smokescreen since the get go. While this last episode's behavior was...less than favorable for me. I am in favor of Arcee's side on it.

Smoke may be feeling shitty, but that's no reason to pull a Cheetor. He's got a way to go, the day will come (hopefully sooner than later) that he'll realize she's not talking to hurt him, but to keep him in line so he CAN keep helping his teammates. She knows coddling creates weakness; if he knows he's not doing his best, he can realize it sooner so he CAN step up his game.

I love him. Everyone else is being a jerk and acting condescendingly toward him.

He really hasn't gotten on my nerves yet. I hope they're not setting the stage for his death in the season finale. Arcee's speech made me wonder if that was a bit of foreshadowing by the writers. How better for Smoke to try and prove that the team, and Cybertron for that matter, comes first than self-sacrifice? I mean, he is the last key. Who knows if that means he has to die or if it simply means he has to stand inside a circle and glow while making his O-face?

For a sec, I thought this was a hate thread.lol But I could agree, he's always being morally turned down sometimes as a kid.

Almost all the other Autobots have stormed (driven?) out of the base in a huff at some point, often running right into trouble. So why not let Smokescreen have his fair turn at it too? The Autobots have had loads of episodes to spread their self-indulgence over and Smokescreen is just trying to catch up to their quotas as quickly as possible.

I love Smokescreen! He needs to mature up a little bit, but that'll come in time.

    Wonderful phrasing :lolol

I find it deliciously funny that Arcee is so sarcastic in referring to Smoke as destiny's child, only to find out he's
part of the puzzle to Cybertron's return

    Yeah.

See, I think this is the biggest thing that caused me to become so disgusted with Arcee. Her sarcasm and mockery. I was shocked that she acted that way and found it unfair and out of line. I expected her to act better than that after what she has been through. She is an experienced, mature, battle hardened warrior but she resorted to childish actions.

Optimus believes in letting those around him learn from their mistakes. It helps them mature and become stronger. He's had the patience to let all of them do so. But she was not allowing Smokescreen to do the same. He was already kicking himself and I believe he would have figured it out on his own. She didn't give him the chance. She ignored Optimus (again) and kicked him when he was down.

Even the other Bots knew she went to far as evidenced by Optimus pausing at what he was doing to say something, Ratchet calling her out on it and Bulkhead volunteering to go get him. And even after all that she still resorted to name calling. It makes me wonder if she has learned everything herself about being a true team member.

Don't get me wrong, Smokescreen was acting up and needed something said to him. I personally chalk that up to youth, eagerness, wanting to be part of the action, carelessness and a tad bit of his ego. But it was up to Optimus to handle it. Although I do admit I'm a bit disappointed in Optimus for not saying something and letting dissension in the ranks get to the point where one member chases off another. And I'm not just blaming Arcee for him running off. They've all had a hand in it.

I realize this build-up was necessary for the plot, and I'm no writer, but I can't help but wonder if it couldn't have been done differently to lead up to this.

I have an honest question. Is Arcee Second in Command or something? Did I miss something somewhere? Someone kindly fill me in on it because I'm honestly not aware that she is.

    I thought Ratchet was.

But Arcee acts like she is. I don't know. The show really doesn't say or I don't remember. But I always thought Ratchet because of the Orion Pax arc.

She may be next in line, though. XD ((Which begs the question: Have they ever explained Optimus and her's special bond? Her profile says that.))

Yeah, I agree with you. Smokescreen was whiny and acting like everything was a game. He is literally a child and understandable that he will act childish, annoying, and eager to please. He is trying to find his place or as he likes to call it, his destiny. XD

But Arcee kicked him when he was down. He just got back from the mission and already Arcee jumped on him. She was right, but also wrong.

You think Optimus would step in instead of allowing such. Smokescreen's young and they should have guessed such a thing would happen.

It made me facepalm. I never want to be a kid or rookie in that team. XD

It's nice to have a new breath of fresh air in the autobot squad, but I really can't stand Smokescreen just because of the praise he gets despite being exactly what people hated before. He is cocky and reckless and people love him, but when Miko was just the same, they would move heaven and earth to get rid of her...but oh well.

I will admit though, the ways they make/set up the scenes for Arcee to bash him are kind of...outta nowhere though. It's like she wants to be angry, but not sure for what lol. (and this is coming from an arcee fan).

I've stopped trying to make reason of it and am just going back to before I went on the forums..I jsut watch, enjoy, and wait for next week =3/

Nobody likes to appreciate the guy that shows up yelling WOOHOO GONNA BE THE BEST SOLDIER KICK YA'LL ASS AW SHUCKS YOU GUYS LOST RELIC? HEH GOOD THING I'M HERE TO GET IT! PHASE SHIFTER SWAG! YEEEHAAW!

Smokey is full of himself, makes sense, he pretty much finally joined combat and had a great, even if lucky, beginning. But nobody is bullying him for free, he deserved every single jab he got so far and the way he ran away crying after Arcee's advice is just childish. Specially considering she wasn't actualy very harsh at all.
