Everytime you have a good TF series, Prime and Beast Wars, what do you do? You kill it before its time and replace it with what many fans consider to be an inferior product! Why? Just why? Why are you ending TF Prime so early when you have hardly EVEN BEGUN to tell the story? Why? You don't want any toys competing with Transformers 4? Is that why? Is that why you want to turn the story into robots that change into beasts? So those toys will be different enough to not compete with the vehicle mode-based TF toys for TF4? Is that why?

I want at least a 26 episode season 3 TF Prime series and possibly a season four to really wrap things up before I'll even consider Beast Hunters which may very well just be shit for all we know!

Aren't you the one who would constantly bitch about how bad Prime was every episode?

First off it's not saying it's cancled and this is likely planned to end that way otherwise why would we have Beast Hunters be the follow up to Prime? We're still going to see the same universe and characters in the end.

Really, what is there to wrap up?

Prime has no real underlying story, other than "get the relics".

I'll miss the great characters, but the chances of anything being unresolved at the end are slim, given everything is usually resolved within one episode.

Because the toys aren't selling and the show is crap and there's a (relatively) tiny audience for it where its aired?

Transformers: Prime, maybe ending, but perhaps this 'universe' is going to just be rebranded into Transformers: Beast Hunters, you never know.

It could have had something beyond Dark Energon and "gotta catch em all" relics if the creators didn't dick around so much. They probably thought this show was going to last 5 seasons or more and that's why they spent so little time on the mythology so as to stretch it out. I think Hasbro, not the creators, decided to pull the plug because they didn't want a toyline competing with their precious TF4 line. So they said, "Hey let's just make Prime turn into it's version of Beast Wars (but probably not nearly as good) because animal-based TF toys won't compete with vehicle-based movie ones because they are so different. Willing to BET that's why TF Prime is evolving into Beast Hunters late 2013 not too long before TF4 comes out in 2014! Willing to BET!

I still LIKE this show! In fact, despite some of its flaws, I like it even better than Beast Wars and that's saying alot because I really liked Beast Wars! There is so much that can be done with this show yet, but no. Hasbro doesn't want another vehicle-based TF line to interfere with their TF4 toys in 2014. Especially since DOTM toys didn't sell to well! That's why TF Prime is turning into beast-based formers that are so different than TF4 toys so as to not seriously compete with them.

I'm SAD, SAD, SAD. I'm ANGRY and I'm SHOCKED! I can't even begin to describe my anger for Habro after hearing this news!

I don't like it. I don't want TF Prime to turn into a show about beasts! If they want to do that, that's fine! JUST MAKE IT ANOTHER SHOW IN THE SAME UNIVERSE LIKE RESCUE BOTS! MAKE A PRIME VERSION OF BEAST WARS (AND MAKE IT GOOD) BUT DON'T TURN PRIME INTO BEAST WARS!

What, are they going to next announce they are getting rid of Rescue Bots?

Toys aren't selling? What? I thought they were selling better than DOTM toys at least?

And if the toys aren't selling, could that have more to do with the shitty economy than the popularity of the franchise because, the last I heard, alot of stuff isn't selling in this cold depression we're in.

It's a shame, because there are aspects of Prime that are very good, but the annoyingly small cast of transformers (A few of whom have no speaking lines!) and generally so-so plot has squandered what could have been a great show.

The voice cast that they did have was top notch. Best we've seen since Beast Wars. The action was also excellent. Characterization for the bots who did speak was generally pretty good, but there were simply too few of them to make the war feel relevant. The plot itself, while having some good individual ideas, has generally been flat and uninteresting. Even when you throw in major lore elements like the Primes and Unicron, it just didn't go anywhere. Even G1's super episodic nature led to more long term war development than this.

Of course, the show's remaining 20+ episodes could wow me and lead to a great finale. Have these relics lead to something big? Bring the war back to cybertron? Bring in more autobots and actually show us a war, not just a small band of skirmishes? It's not like Beast Wars where the war proper was already resolved and these were smaller players trying to keep it from igniting into a larger one, this is Prime and Megatron, faction leaders fighting the same conflict they've fought for ages.

Please, show us the remainder of the transformers race. Make this whole show feel relevant to the history of this universe?

Sorry. I'm just mad! Heartbroken actually. Again, I know it's just a show, but I really liked it despite its flaws. Why Habro? Why?

Hasbro's been a dickhead since DOTM, that's why. The plastic is cheap, the Hub is awful mostly, the toys are shrinking and prices are increasing.

Beast Wars was not killed off before its time. BW lasted exactly the right length of time. You wanted more? If they dragged out the story of being trapped on Earth in the past another season, it would have become Gilligan's fucking Island. No thank you. With 3 seasons, they kept the plot moving forward and actually allowed the characters to overcome their situation. Refreshing!

Beast Wars is regarded as one of the high points in the entire franchise, and a big part of the reason why is that it didn't outstay it's welcome. They ended it before it became tired, repetitious and predictable.

That said, I do think Prime could have kept going longer. Maybe because I don't think it has lived up to its potential yet.

No, Beast Wars was killed off before its time. It could have kept its basic designs and elements and left Earth and went back to Cybertron but had a very different, and better, story than Beast Machines.

based on what was said, Beast Hunters is NOT a new show, its the name of TFP S3, thus if its true then Beast Hunters is Prime series finale, not a new show

lol whatever. All you are complaining about is that you wanted Beast Machines to keep the "Beast Wars" title and be written according to your personal wishes. Yeah, nothing unreasonable about that.

Whine whine whine why doesn't everything I like last forever?!!! The universe is against me, etc., etc. They always cancel these shows I like that I'm sure were super-successful and exceeded all their sales expectations, and they only got rid of them to spite me and because THEY HATE GOOD TV SHOWS!!!!

Tiresome. Threads like this make me so freaking thankful I don't work for Hasbro and have to take any of this "fan" moaning seriously.

    Oh, let them complain...

That's what the internet is for, and fans are rightly disappointed that a series they liked is being canned. Fan forums are one of the few places people should be able to vent their geeky frustrations. There's no reason to act like a sarcastic, condescending dick about it. :redface2:

Once again, those who complain about complainers (while pretending that they "don't have to take it seriously") prove that they, in their affected cynicism, are endlessly more tiresome.

I don't mind complaining when it's based in reality. What's tiresome is this "They're doing it because they are out to get me!" mentality. For all we know, he may have a legitimate chemical imbalance. You shouldn't encourage delusion.

I have a right to complain and I'm not the only one upset by the change in direction for TF Prime. And yes, its TF4 that's causing this change because there is just no other reason why they want to change Prime to Beasts when the current Prime formula was working and the toys weren't selling so badly given this bad economy anyways. Sales may not be super, but I don't expect them to improve all that much if they switch to an all or mostly beast show. I think the main reason again is Hasbro wants to make the line now as different from the TF4 toys as possible so as to not cause the two lines to compete with eachother.

In fact, I am wondering if TF Prime Beast Hunters will go back to TF Prime once TF4 ends later in 2014. I am really wondering that. Maybe the bots go to some jungle planet for 1 1/2 years and then they are back on Earth right when the movie has left the theatres. Of course I doubt this, but one can hope!
