Also used in a lot of social studies/history classes to describe the top of the food chain in a given environment. IE. sharks. With frickin' lazers.

Funny enough, I learnt harbinger from, well, the Harbinger.

    Noun:
    1. A person who goes ahead and makes known the approach of another; herald.

    2. Anything that foreshadows a future event; omen; sign: Frost is a harbinger of winter.

    3. A person sent in advance of troops, a royal train, etc., to provide or secure lodgings and other accommodations.

It's quite interesting. The Harbinger is now Starscream's base and was present when he went rogue, so you could say it foreshadowed his defection.

Maybe it a commonly known word, but as a non-native English speaker I find it fancy:

    From 'Out of the Past':

    idiosyncrasy

    1. A structural or behavioral characteristic peculiar to an individual or group.
    2. A physiological or temperamental peculiarity.
    3. An unusual individual reaction to food or a drug.

I didn't actually stop to think about the big words in Prime. There hasn't been a word yet that I didn't already know the meaning of, but now that you all have pointed it out... These are some difficult words for children. Now who says kids can't learn anything watching cartoons? XD They just need to watch the right ones, like Prime.

Actually, energy can't be created or destroyed. Only redistributed elsewhere, or redirected into another form. Basic law of physics. So my guess is that the blast of Matrix energy just... dispersed that energy, scattered it into fragments. Or otherwise altered it. Fragments that COULD one day recoalesce into sentience elsewhere. Which may be how we get Unicron in a planet-eating form later. What I find interesting is that Unicron HAS a spark, since I think sparks are supposedly all from Primus, right?

    In "The Human Factor" episode,
Agent Fowler mentioned "Project Dam-o-cles". This project was initiated by Silas, during his time in the force. And if you saw the episode, it involved a laser-shooting satellite able to fire at pin-point accuracy.

By means of Google Dictionary, I've learned that the word
    Dam-o-cles
is of Greek origin. The description is as follows:

Here's a photo depicting the Greek scene:

Quite fitting if you ask me - the sword being the
    satellite
and the Autobots' lives hang in the balance depicted by the thin hair supporting the sword. ;)

It was also a pun on the fact that Ratchet was involved, being a medic. Looking at the name for this episode ahead of time, I was all "Oooooh Ratchet-centric episode, hoorah."

I have jsut tried to search the translation. And I got it, in English, not it the language I needed.
Then, I tried to search, what "conform" is, yet, they didn't give me a translation.
There were "act in accordance with a wish or command" and "meet specified standards".

Afterall, I still don't know, what it means.
"It stand to reson" - "I want you to do what is required", "You need to do everything, that is appropriate"?

Well, art in accordance or meeting specified standards kind of IS the meaning.

Let's pretend, say, Shroobmaster has started a Twilight club, and I join the club. Under normal circumstances, I don't like Twilight, but with the club, I end up conforming to their standards. That is, I change and adapt to what their requirement is.

    That is conforming.

And one more definition had come to me, when I was taking a shower. "According to the situating". Which seems to be close to your explanation.
    Meta777, than you.

    No problem, Depthwave :)

Another word I've learnt from Prime is Shockwave's : "Interlopers!"

Noun: A person who becomes involved in a place or situation where they are not wanted or are considered not to belong.

Also a synonym for intruder :D

I'm fairly wordy so it's rare any TF show would use a word I've not heard before or didn't know the meaning of. It's usually only if they use a word common in other countries but not here in the UK.

I think the last time I head an unfamilar word in a TF show was when someone said 'Guacamole' in The Rebirth in the late 80s. It also didn't help that I misheard it as 'block-a-moly'.
Well, the TFP writers intended to put lots of new exciting words into season two, but Hasbro interfered and told them they had to use other words because they wanted to set up other different words in season three. So the writers had to shorten the words they'd planned to use for season two. I think it's why so many people are so disappointed in how the words used in season two of TFP turned out.

I'm... very shocked by this thread. Children and non native English speakers I can understand, but adults not knowing some of these words? It seems a travesty to me. I guess this is the result of L33T speak...

knyghtmare2021, how often do you hear "it stands to reason"? Even if I have ever heard that before, my level wasn't enough to highlight it to myself.
They might have known plenty of synonyms.

It's likely that shockwave may be a good source of these words. Perhaps even on par with Optimus. If he even speaks very often.

I'm a bit surprised convalescing didn't make the list, I had to explain that to my five year old.

If I'm not mistaken, this was said during episode 3 of Darkness Rising, but it's been a while since I watched it, so I might be wrong.

Anyway, convalesce: Recover one's health and strength over a period of time after an illness or operation.
