Well let me know when the nominations are due in for Prom king. I'll gladly join #Split Lip.

As for me if "nicknames" and "mannerism" are keeping the people who do respond from making valid rebuttals then trust that I wont lose any sleep.

Sounds to me that the "nickname' issue is just an excuse. I changed my avatar and I rarely use them.

Now if only TF: Primes writers can change for the better...

Nope, read my post again. Though I didn't touch that much on the people who assume, misread and generalize, my overall opinion on the matter clear.

You need to watch ALL of Beast Wars. That's what I use as my bench mark series because it's the best written Transformers series ever made... well in English anyway.

I judge more on the writing than anything else. Beast Wars by far has the least amount of continuity errors from any other franchise even if you include the fact that anything involving their history with G1 was a continuity error. Even so they still managed to keep it down to a minimum of screw ups.

That also includes character development. Beast Wars and Beast Machines are really the only Transformers series to keep the cast small enough to keep track of all the characters and actually take full advantage of that. RID is a great show but with all the Spy Changers the cast is too full for everyone to get decent screen time.

So far Prime has kept the cast small but because they've also killed several characters in the same episodes they were introduced they haven't really been taking full advantage of it. The only time Beast Wars did this was Transmutate but that episode focuses on her as the main character where as "Masters and Students" for example Skyquake is more of a plot device than a character and the same goes for everyone else Prime (The series not the character) has killed in the same episode they were introduced.

Prime has also not done a very good job with continuity but it's not anywhere near as bad as the Unicron Trilogy or the Micheal Bay films. It's actually a bit better than G1 cartoon which has an admittedly flawed continuity. At least for now anyway... it could get worse, we never know.

I don't hate Prime. It's perfectly decent. That said, it hasn't been holding my interest anymore. I still haven't watched the last episode before the break, never mind any new episodes (if they've started airing yet. I stopped paying attention).

I'm sure I'll catch up at some point. I'll check the series out again if I start to hear it's gotten drastically better. And even if it doesn't, I'm sure I'll watch the rest anyway at some point, because someday I'll feel like watching something Transformers, and this is out there. And I'm sure it will be fine. The good news is I'll be able to watch it all at once, without waiting a week between episodes.

But it's definitely not a horrible TF show by any means. Everything about it is competently done. People can pick apart the writing, but mostly that comes down to one fan or another wishing a particular story had gone another way. Any flaw that exists in TFP also exists in most of the other TF series of the past. For the most part, Prime accomplishes what it tries to do. If I or anyone else wish it would try to do more, that is kind of our problem, not the show's.

But one thing I can say flat-out: my gradual disenchantment with the series started with the FE debacle and how Hasbro handled it. That situation which went down between seasons 1 & 2 really killed a lot of my enthusiasm.

you actually use your nicknames alot....but I was telling why people bash you. I don't care how much sleep you get and damn well don't care if if you care if you want to be a prom king. that attitude to call people who like the show "fanboys" and those nicknames may not seem much to you but to people who like the shows take them as serious insults and annoying. just saiyan!!!

How many times have I used those nicknames today?

    How about this week?

I'd simply refer to TF: Prime as "That Show" but see if you can find anything on me saying the term 'Shrek" more than 5 times this whole week.

I'll personally buy you the next wave of TF Prime figures if you find any postings of me actually stating the term "fanboy" on here this decade.

Until then, I'll hold judgement on taking your post seriously....

In G1's defense, those writers were tackling up to 4 other shows at a time that also had deadlines to meet. (G.I. Joe, Jem, Invisonaries and Inhumanoids)

So whats the writers doing TF Prime's excuse.....?

    I'll wait.

Well actually in G1's defense, standards for writing a cartoon series weren't very high in the 80's sense they didn't think kids would notice a few inconsistencies in the plot. However sense Beast Wars I've expected quality to have improved over time. The 90's seems to be the best era for cartoons and then suddenly we went back to 80's standards. Although animation continues to improve, the writing doesn't. I'll just be happy if it's better than Armada.

Not every little detail needs to have a payoff. It doesn't hapeen in rwal life, so i don't know why you are holding a TELEVISION SHOW to a higher quality than real life.
Now if they brought him back and wiped his mind ala-energon then that would be stupid unless there was some kind of other payoff as a result

Okay, this show is real-life, so why don't we make Optimus trip on his own sword and die next episode? With no climatic conclusion or build-up whatsoever? Wouldn't that be amazing? no.

    Real life =/= Fiction.

I think YoungPrime and soundwave142 are taking this a little personally, now. I only asked about Prime, I didn't say 'compare and fight over your favorite series.'

And, by the way, YoungPrime, you might not be trying to, but you're coming off as someone who self-victimizes themselves. You can't just respond by insulting people who like the show and calling them names. That's the disrespect i was talking about. And, another thing, you can't blame writers for everything. Why do you hate the writers so freakin' much? They're doing an okay job. Not the best, but it's okay. It really seems like all of your arguments end up going back to one sentence. 'The writers suck!'

I don't want this thread to be closed by a moderator for violence or something, I'd rather it just disappear with time due to loss of interest. so please don't get outraged.

    Let's see what we've got...

It's boring. Seriously. The stories aren't interesting, the cast is boring, and if it was a color, it'd be beige, because nothing exciting happens.

The cast is meh. The 'Bots are just terrible. Driftjack shouldn't exist, Arcee is so stereotypical it's ridiculous, BB is boring, and Bulkhead is nowhere near as awesome as his Animated counterpart. Optimus is typical Optimus, so while he isn't bad, he isn't exciting.

Then the humans. Good God. Miko is the worst TF human character ever. Annoying voice, annoying antics, and adds nothing to the show. Jack is the same way. Raf is just there, so while I don't hate him, he doesn't make me like it anymore either.

The only thing about this show I'll say isn't bad is the 'Cons. I love Soundwave and Knockout, Starscream is decent, and Megs is tolerable. But that's it. They're the only characters I would say I like.

I don't dislike the animation or designs. Those are fine. But the writing and characters are just so boring I can't watch it. There are a few episodes I don't mind. I actually liked Hurt. But then I go watch last night's episode with Shockwave and get upset because Shockwave was boring. Horrible character introduction. It's that type of stuff that makes me hate Prime. They'll get so much wrong, and then have a little ray of hope pop up, just to revert back to its problems.

    I. Personally think Prime is one of the better Transformers universes. The kids are less annoying than usual, There aren't any obvious plotholes, Megatron, Optimus, and Starscream are awesome characters....

It does have it's problems though. Every show does. Like, my main issue with Prime is Arcee as a character period. Everytime she does something, I feel the need to facepalm.

But other characters are well developed, there is suspence and humor, the writers aren't afraid too kill off main cons. There are references to G1, the movies, (and starwars in that one episode :3)

But this is coming from the girl who hated Animated, which everyone apparently loved. So feel free to disagree with me.

Every Transformers series gets hate for different reasons. You only see the hates for Prime right now since it is the show currently airing.

There's so much hate around here because this is an internet forum.

Forums like this are where the most obsessed nit-picky fans tend to hang out and discuss (or disassemble to the smallest modicum of information) any and all new happenings in their fan base.

This is an internet forum where obsessed nit-picky fans with strong opinions can meet other people with strong opinions and talk openly about them, or you know, rage about it.
