I, as many, am exited for Shockwave's appearence in a future episode of Prime. But I have the strong feeling he's not going to make it past his first appearence. Such as:

* Steve Blum is voicing Shockwave in FoC, meaning he probably will in the show.

* The episode is a flashback episode (since Cliffjumper is there), and if the event took place a long time ago and Shockwave hasn't been mentioned since, he is assumably dead.

Can someone refresh my memory on what exactly was seen?

 

I strongly doubt it. Shockwave plays an important role in the aligned countinuity such as the space bridge and Insecticons in Fall of Cybertron not to mention being one of Megatron's inner circle. That and he's one of the most iconic TF characers out there so they can't just toss him aside like that. To do so would be not only bad writing but a major mistake.

And if it's indeed a flashback episode what's to say he won't re-appear to the present? Just because it's a flashback doesn't mean he'll be dead. Likely in stasis for now.

 

If he dies first episode his brother Sixshot will show up later to avenge him.

 

Blum voicing the character in the video game doesn't mean jack. It means less than nothing. The casting process between the show and a video game developer is completely separate.

 

If he is in Stasis, isn't it odd he hasn't been mentioned by anyone? By Megatron? By Arcee and Cliffjumper in DR P1?

 

This. It's just like the rumors that Nolan North is voicing Cliffjumper because of the game.

 

Perhaps they don't know that he's in stasis. For all we know the last time they saw him was him escaping last time and that's it.

 

Don't they make a big deal about model usage in this show? I doubt they'd design him just for a flashback.

I recall his appearence being described as being like his WFC/FOC design but thin like Soundwave from what I've heard.

So yeah they can't just make a new model from scratch only to use it in one episode.

But Cliffjumper was there for a minimum of 4 known episodes, only in about 7% of the episodes...

 

They reused Cliffjumper's model for Tailgate, had him alive for a few minutes, had him as a zombie for a while, and had him for at least two flashbacks (counting the Shockwave one). They aren't just gonna put Shockwave in a random flashback and never use the design again. If they wanted to do that they'd probably just do the typical hand drawn flashback. Especially if the flashback or Shockwave's appearance is a small portion of the episode, or if he transforms.

 

I will laugh so hard if they kill him in his first episode. And then I will cheer at Hasbro's glorious trolling powers.

No. He could've always left the planet, or perhaps Arcee and Cliffjumper (by some miracle) do something to put him in stasis.
