The phrase is from Highlander, but it sounds like you're talking about Hancock.

Well the sentry on Cybertron and the one on Earth had both been active for a while. in the RPG world, they would have alot of experience. The swarm on the other hand, had just hatched, its unknown if they were ever active at some time, or if they were complete younglings.

Also the swarm was under Airachnids control. They werent able to think for themselves, which in just about any TV show, puts them at a distinct tactical disadvantage. I've never seen any mind-controlled saps who had their full mental acuity intact.

This theory does make decent sense. It could very well be what happened.

I agree. One of the first things Airachnid did was disarm Megatron's fusion canon. If she hadn't I believe the fight would have turned out very different.

What I'm going with is they are more vulnerable and therefore weaker in their insect mode. They were much easier to take out in that mode.

People greatly overemphasize the Insecticon's prowess in battle against Megatron. Megatron was disarmed almost from the start, and as soon as his cannon was freed up, the fight was over.

Irrelevant considering Bumblebee kicked one to death.

His cannon was never freed up. He used his cannon once at the beginning of the fight and he used his sword for the rest.

And regardless, the Insecticons were still significantly weaker. Megatron slams one on the wall multiple times and the Insecticon is barely phased. Later Bumblebee kicks one, it falls, and Optimus slams another Insecticon on it and they're unconscious just like that.

In insect mode if I remember correctly. Hence my own theory on the matter.

If I am not remembering it right someone please correct me.

They cannot be that much weaker just by switching modes.

The thought occured to me that the earth ones Airachnid had under her control were immature, and that she hatched them befure full develoment and full strength were achieved, in the hope that force of numbers would accomplish her vengeance.

The one Megatron fought could have been a parent.

You think that and I respect that totally. But I personally think they can.

Arcee blasted one in Insect mode multiple times and it didn't even flinch.

Then again I don't know how Arcee's weapons compare to everyone else. Honestly it's probably just the writers cheating. No explanation, no theories, just the writers needed them to be weak, so they were.

They're as strong as the writing needs them to be

Arcee's guns do seem to be kind of weak, to deliver as much damage as the others do in a single-shot she has to fire like crazy. in One Shall Rise I recall that every time she got a drop on a Unicron anti-body she had to fire multiple times at it point-blank to kill it, while Bulkhead, Megatron and Optimus were picking them up with single shots.

True, but she also blew a giant hole in a Vehicon's head with one shot in the opening five parter. Her weapon strength is fairly inconsistent.

But in the end, he was killed by a rail road track.
