I know, people look for excuses.
Breakdown is MIA as far as the Cons are concerned, he might be holding out some faint hope that Airachnid is keeping him alive for information or that he's been forced into Stasis Lock.

This episode makes me wish someone would ask whether or not Nemesis really is Trypticon.

On the other hand I like the humans perspective of the Cybertronian surroundings. Humans see the Cybertronian world in a different way due to their size.

I thought it was pretty obvious the ship took those priorities out of it's own system.

I dunno, man, the way it cut off its transmission with Ratchet rather than answer his question when it had freely given answers to all his others? It having weaponry built into it that none of the Decepticons on board knew about? I think there's more to the story.

Maybe the Nemesis couldn´t/didn´t want to explain why it was following those pre-programmed priorities, because it really didn´t know itself.
    Yeah, A.I is a crapshoot.

I think it's definetely possible that there is more to the Nemesis than they let on, specially because of all the crazy weapons it suddenly had that it certainly did not before. It even managed to "torture" Megatron like Unicron did in the g1 movie.

I thought it could be unicron or something maybe, haha. Like some juice from the dark energon has some unicron mind in there. Idk, that is probably way off base.

to me, it didn't seem strictly like the some ai taking priorities that were already in the system and going. It had to do more decoding to find more spots (and it did a better faster job). Plus the extra weapons they didn't know about.

maybe the ship is a set up job? Maybe somebody previously set up the ship to find the relics and megs is the fool doing the dirty work, haha.

idk, I just hope they explain it.

    Watched it.

    Good Stuff:
    - First of all, I deeply enjoyed the first minutes of the episode, with that "War" feel, no MacGuffin hunt or "Energon reading check" or MECH interrupting, just the Autobots and the Decepticons going at War with each other in a mighty, military and strategic battle in an epic duel and an awesome fighting scene. That's how the show should be: A bloody War.
    - The ship itself was pretty amusing ["I AM IN COMMAND!"], especially when it managed to take down the entire Decepticon faction in one stroke. Badass.
    - I also liked Jack's "action scene" when he faced the Ship's claw [though I do think his natural Le Parkour got a bit odd].
    - "I am here to offer a second opinion." Oh Ratchet, I love you so much.

    Bad Stuff:
    - This show only strikes deeper how ridicuously POINTLESS Breakdown's death was, Knockout literally reacted as if nothing happened. These writers clearly have no idea what the flying Hell they're doing. I could write a better character arc blindfolded.
    - Say Optimus, you had three powerful weapons: The Immobilizer, The Polary Gauntlet and the Spark Extractor. Then tell me, why on the eleventh level of Hell did you bring the least-effective weapon of all three? The Gauntlet could warp the Nemesis' steel around itself until it is nothing but a warped ball of metal, the Immobilizer could stop the Nemesis' engines with one hit and you bring the Spark Extractor? My God you're a freaking moron, someone take this man out of command before he kills us all.
    - Also, why exaclty does everyone get off Stasis as soon as the Ship is defeated? It's a laser, not a magic spell.

I still don't get why people are saying Knockout should care that Breakdown died. When was he ever shown caring about him? He called him his assistant, not his friend and he completely ignored the fact that he was captured by MECH and let Starscream save him instead.

It's not a flaw in a character arc if they never intended him to care about Breakdown to begin with.

Boom. I think people have completely manufactured a deep friendship between them in their minds. I blame /co/ shippers for this.

As I said in another thread:

"Oh But Knockout didn't come to rescue Breakdown" that's called bad writing, dear, for all we know, he could be in the Nemesis crying for the loss of his friend [I'm joking here], but we can't say either way, you know why? Because the writers are too. freaking. INCOMPETENT to show his face in an episode about his right-hand man.

As I said, absence of characterization =/= characterization.

For what the show gave us, Knockout acts far more of a friend than of a foe to Breakdown, most of the instances you guys use to justifiy him not caring is just plain bad writing instead of actual charaterization.

Here's the thing, Knockout and Breakdown were always together, constantly spoke to each other and shared thoughts normally["Hmm, fight?" "Drive"]. That's far closer to a friendship than "Knockout being an asshole", we can't say for sure if they were friends, but their relationship pointed towards that direction so it is reasonable to be disapointed.

But again, if they wanted to show Knockout doesn't care about Breakdown, fine, but here's a hint: SHOW he doesn't care.

I absolutely despise Shipping, I feel offended for being compared to them.

Should we bother? It appears you're just going to chalk all of our reasons up to "bad writing".

    couple things:

    1) The above wiht regard to Knockout and Breakdown. I completely agree wiht that statement. For all we know the writers just wrote them as partners in crime

    2) I liked this episode quite a bit.

    3) In response to this:
I chock the selection of the Spark Extractor up to two things: 1)the CGI budget (somehow i dont think the writers wanted to bother showing the immobilizer and Polarity gauntlet again. Also, all 3 are McGuffin's anyway, so why bitch about a bad choice that wasnt even that bad. Clearly the intent was to get the spark extractor on the nemesis and use is on someone. If anything they should have also grabbed the Immobilizer) and 2) the fact that Optimus' main goal was to get to Megs and defeat him and what's the best 1 shot weapon relic for that? the spark extractor.

    4) also, re: the stasis beam and said stasis wearing off when the ship was defeated i think the effects wore off once whatever was in charge of the ship was subdued; Yes that's not how stasis works, but the kids watching the show dont know that. Plus Ratchet said he'd never seen "that kind of stasis" before, so maybe it was a milder variant of your garden variety stasis.

    5) Ratchet won the episode with that "I'm here for a second opinion" line

Good episode overall. on par with the rather cool Armada for me and wayy better than Grill. I'm just annoyed that with the 4 coordinates recovered in this episode, we're gonna have 4 filler eps.

Also, i really hope all this relic hunting is leading somewhere....
