No one is saying you have to but, it was a family show heck they even had a toy line. On topic, the point is that Tf Prime has to satisfy a broad auidence the IDW comics have a narrow auidence to please.

I miss those days. It's sad when a show only becomes accepted after it ends.

They should draw a moustache on the pod glass so it looks like Airachnid has lip fuzz.

Actually it would be funny to have Bumblebee sneak in on a dare while Optimus is asleep on a stasis recharge and draw a moustache on him. And while everyone is giggling later at Moustachimus Prime there's a Decepticon alert and Optimus rushes off through the Ground Bridge before anyone can tell him about the prank. Cue every Decepticon Optimus then encounters, including Megatron, thrown off their stride by his drawn-on face fuzz.

Edit: Just realised however that any drawn-on moustache on Optimus would get covered in battle by his mouth-guard. Bugger. And I was so enjoying the idea too. Unless the writers upped the joke by having an even bigger moustache drawn on Optimus' mouth-guard. It would be like a second comedy hit when he activated it and there it was. Maybe a full-on beard and grinning teeth for that reveal.

I'd definitely laugh at both of those ideas. :lol  And I'd love to see that kind of interaction.

But it's almost too funny/slapstick. I could see a toned down version of the first idea playing out. Maybe like Bumblebee walking by in the Autobot base with no one else around, stopping, and walking back to where Airachnid is being held. He looks around, making sure that no one is around. And then making faces (or the closest thing he can do to making faces) at her, wiggling his fingers, scowling, etc. (you know, the Bumblebee equivalent of sticking out his tongue and saying "Na na na na boo-boo!") and then having Ratchet walk in on this. They stare at each awkwardly and Ratchet just rolls his eyes, grumbles "Ughh...." and walks away.

Meh. Beast Wars was a great series that knew when to be serious, and it went the route of Rhinox downing wild beans and blasting the Predacons with the biggest fart in the universe. And hell, even Megatron thought it was completely ludicrous that such a thing happened to him.

Mustaches drawn on Optimus's face/faceplate is pretty tame. (Though it'd be hilarious, nonetheless :D ).

    True.

And a decapitated Terrorsaur just sort of getting flustered when his severed head is chillin' on the ground. Or Megatron and Inferno switching heads. TFP just hasn't really shown itself to be up to that sort of humour. I'd love to see it, but I can't see them starting now.

I agree. Shit, the movie autobots have had more interactions with each other than the Prime autobots...

It is! Ratchet and Ironhide's bickering from the first movie was amusing, you have the "Silent treatment" scene from Dark of the Moon that got big laughs, as well as the wrecker's attitude towards humans.

Shit, even the twins gave us bot on bot interaction moments. I don't care if you think they're God-awful stereotypes or what, Bumblebee clunking their heads together and throwing them out of the temple followed by Skids' "Now THAT'S rude!" and PO'd look was funny. Those moments in the movie were small, but they were there and they gave the bots some character. And they were hell of a lot more than what we've gotten from the Prime 'Bot's so far.

It's not that the Prime bots don't interact, but for me it's a lack of sincerity or "realness". I don't buy them as this family that I feel like they're trying to sell them as. That's not to say they don't have their moments, because they've had a few. But on the whole, the dynamic lacks.

    I think it's a "show, don't tell" issue.

Frankly, and I know some will hate this because of the humans, I think the relationships that exist between Miko and Bulkhead and Jack and Arcee have been done a lot better than the ones the bots share between themselves.

This. It's not so much that there's not a lot of interaction between the bots in TFP, it's that it's not very... "real". It's all "let's stand around and talk like everything is the most important thing ever". The movies had more (quality) "real" interaction (The Twins, Ratchet & Ironhide, Wheelie & Brains, Optimus & Sentinel), but it was fewer and farther between than TFP. TFP obviously has more (quantity) 'Bot interaction, but it's all "everything being said is the most serious war-related topic EVR!". Very few of the lighter moments. We need more light moments between the characters. Wheeljack and Bulkhead fist-bumping, Optimus listening to Arcee's thoughts, etc..

Wheeljack and Bulkhead are definitely an example of a relationship that works. When they're on screen together and talk to each other it feels real.

But then there are other scenes, like the one with the bots fighting in the "Orion Pax" three parter.... Their fight lacked in sincerity to me. It felt staged.

Even though he was only in the show for minutes and they didn't talk face to face, I also felt that Cliffjumper and Arcee's communication before he was killed felt real and natural. I think killing a character like Cliffjumper was a mistake. He had instant personality, and those are the kind of characters that work well opposite OTHER characters.

The scene in TF1 when the Autobots hide at Sam's house remains one of my favorite scenes in the movie series - it really shows the Autobots as characters, and all too brief interaction in that scene felt really natural and genuine. The sequels lacked that.

This is one of things that bugs me about Prime - so much time for bot interaction, and it's nowhere near as good as it could be.

I don't always see eye-to-eye with you, but you are so right.

And going back to the bot-on-bot interaction comment, Bulkhead and Arcee have had a couple good moments actually. That part in Rock Bottom with them saying hey while Bulk is still struggling with the rock is still golden to me. And also how fast she rushes to his aid, while leaning in to see if he was okay in Operation Bumblebee part two still gets to me. There's a good gif of it on tumblr.
