    I have to agree at least they are attempting to do more than something like yet another robot zombie with him.

    The merge of man and machine could be something interesting to play with if they go with a character that sees it as an upgrade and advantage instead of the oh woe is me concept. I always found it silly on Doctor Who that no one would ever see replacing a frail sickly body with a tough mechanical one as a good thing.

    I like that Mech is so evil. In fact Rachet even said that in one way Mech was more evil than megatron. I think it was worded that Megatron was a warlord or something but mech was "ghoul like" or something. I forsee a con-bot team up vs Mech

    Offtopic: Well, many people found the permanent lost of their souls (free will, emotions) as a step price for immortality. And the upgrading process was kinda agonizing.

    It's not a war and people don't die. It's a bunch of skirmishes with some people fighting against dumb drones who have their heads screwed on backwards. If that was the case, Arcee, Bumblebee and Bulkhead would have died long ago. But it's obvious the writers have things in store for them and thus keep them alive and well.

    So no, it's writer's choice, not them realistically dying in a war-like state like they advertised with Cliff.
