I hate the Japanese obsession with putting lame pop songs into the opening and ending of every show. MOST of the time it doesn't even fit the feel of the show at all and they're embarrassingly lame. It's like they think people won't watch a good show unless the latest idol dorks are somehow affiliated with it!

The editing for the opening video was fine. They picked some good action shots and while its not as epicly fantastic as the Japanese Animated Opening. I'm glad its a little different from the US version. Even just the way fowler walks into the room staring down the bots during the end credits is delivered mysteriously like were just looking at Agent Fowler in silent overlooking the team, this style is the heart of why it kind of works. Also I liked that the Soundwave turning around shot from darkness rising and both of the clips for starscream were visually pretty nice bright wide shots. I got some fun out of watching all these clips again with a new perspective.


I don't hate this, but maybe they could have found some better music. I can see how it hits all the audible points of the typical 90's kids anime music crawl.
But that's not really helping it stand out in the cluttered japanese mediascape. But all the "party down" lines from the backup singers is not fitting the shows vibe.

Then again happy music like this Might be what Soundwave or Airachnid Enjoy on the battlefield. Just to be Sick.

 

I personally think that this is hilariously out of place. Can't wait to see how many more songs they'll make that won't match the series's seriousness.

If a show like South Park, made in literally under a week, can perform an original song with flawless Japanese, then professional bands should be able how to actually say the words. It gets to the point where it just sounds like they are mocking us.

Ok, and there are some bands that actually do study the music they are trying to imitate. Someone referenced Gurren Lagann before. There is some pretty flawless rap there, and Viral's theme sounds like it came right out of a Linkin Park album. The Cowboy Bebop composers also put the time in to study jazz, you can tell by how good the music for the show is.

Then again, this is a K-pop group. They're the Korean equivalent of Big Time Rush, I really shouldn't be expecting quality from them...

That always bugs me. They have to yell out "TRANSFORMMMM!" every time they do that? I don't yell out "SIT DOWN!" every time I sit.......maybe I should though. Hmmmm...

 

If it's like Beast Wars it could be an activation code like Maximize and Terrorize. Hopefully they drop it after a few episodes like Beast Wars did otherwise that would be annoying.

 

I did that now. The violin baseline works in grander feel of prime naturally.
It syncs better in some ways. But since the video is shorter than the song, experiment with your start point.

Gave me a bit of a nostalgia fit. Totally High on some of this nonsense.
