    I stopped reading here.

EDIT: Decided to read on. I see what you're saying. Sadly:

1.) I think there would be to much fanrage.

2.) Hasbro needs Megs as main villian.

Cool theory, except for the part where WFC/Exodus is supposed to be the prequel to the series and Soundwave's past is very much known.

Some very interesting ideas. I'm not sure if the writers will go there but you've got plenty to backup your speculation instead of just going with wild speculation.

My guess as to why Soundwave doesn't send verbal messages is that he acts more like a computer so he can transmit information like coordinates better as a data package than verbally sending them. A bit like how a computer could send all the information on how to fix your car with pictures, diagrams, and videos faster as a file than someone could explain it.

Here's another thing to add to your list: Maybe "Steve", the average Vehicon, is Soundwave's "vessel", perhaps Soundwave speaks through them and can "assume direct control" whenever he wants...

The only flaw in that theory is the common Vehicon is fairly stupid. If they were his "vessels" I'd imagine they'd act more like him, oppose to stormtrooper type soldiers who have sucky aiming and aren't very bright.

I just see it that Soundwave loves playing "dedicated efficient henchman".

Wow thats some good points if you mind me adding if the plot does come into the show. perhaps soundwave has some connections with Planet X and his plans revolve around that somehow. Sort of like his Unicron Trilogy version.

But an awesome idea I hope it does become cannon.

It is indeed likely that Soundwave doesn't speak because he might find it more efficient to "act" and "source" than to speak. Soundwave has been able to interact with characters without a voice of his own so it certainly is likely that he feels more adept as being a walking computer than to be a bot with secrets to hide.
It could go both ways though.

@Zyros: I never understood the connection between WFC and Prime. How are they the same universe if the designs are totally different?

Well, Soundwave being a spy, hacker and a communications expert, he most likely helped with Megatron's propaganda. Whatever the case, I agree that there is more to him than what we are seeing.

Soundwave's head looked like the Decepticon symbol for years. This new Soundwave, like other Prime characters took cues from previous incarnations. Soundwave's colors too. Though he was traditionally blue, purple isn't much of a stretch...though I think this new soundwave is more gray and blue than purple.

Vehicons are sentient; they have their own personalities and different voices. We see them thinking over and voting on Airachnids proposal during the season finale of season one.

The Insecticon was said to be a sentry, so I suppose it could be a drone of sorts, but I do not believe it is linked to Soundwave--his ability allows him to link up with the ship and make reports to Megatron. He could not control the Insecticon on Cybertron. If he had, wouldn't he have told Megatron that it was the Autobots that activated it or better yet that Arcee and Jack were on Cybertron?

It hasn't been stated yet, but I think we are going to find out that Shockwave is the creator of the Insecticons like in FOC.

Soundwave, like Ratchet is charged with minding the base. He may not be second in command, but neither is Ratchet, well, not officially. But like Ratchet, he takes charge when he needs to.

Apparently, it was Starscreams job to oversea the Spacebridge.

Knockout was helping to build the Spacebridge 2.0, in fact he coined it that. Soundwave, too, was giving input as to what was needed to finish the thing. The Spacebridge's completion was a team effort, but one the Decepticons do very, very well. This isn't new by the way--they've been good at this since G1.

Starscream was craftier. He knew better than to get caught. He knew Soundwave was watching, so he made sure to stay one step ahead...though, he never really was. Soundwave knew he took the Dark Energon shard from Megatron, Megatron said so to Starscream back in season one.

How do we know Soundwave hate's Airachind? I see him as an emotionless character. I think Soundwave sees things in black and white: you are either with the Megatron (the Decepticons) or you aren't.

Megatron talks candidly to Soundwave because he knows him the longest. He is Megatron's first follower, and a very loyal one at that. He is Megatron's confidant. He may not be Megatron's second-in-command, but that doesn't make him a lesser Decepticon. Some people just are built to lead. Besides, Soundwave, wouldn't be able to fulfill his function (to be Megatron's eyes and ears while he's away) if he were commanding troops in Megatron's absence.
    I don't see this.
So far as we know, right? Soundwave's face may be featureless, rather lacking distinctive detailing, but he can see.
If Megatron wants Optimus dead, I'm sure Soundwave would too.
I think Soundwave is simply the first Decepticon (follower), Megatron's only friend and confidant, who would do whatever his leader asked of him--not unlike G1 Soundwave.

If any of what you said comes to pass, I would be very surprised and a little disappointed with the story, sorry. I like Megatron larger than life and in total control:p

Pretty sure he's not The Stig.

But he is The Stig's Cybertronian cousin.
