If he was, he'd probably be about the same size as Ratchet.

Okay, so... Since I apparently have no life I took the time to comb through the episodes and get the best shots for height comparisons that I could for you. After all, people in this thread can have "opinions" on how tall the characters are all they want, but actual screenshots tell the truth.

I won't directly put the pictures in the thread, because that would consume a lot of space and be annoying to scroll through. I'll just link to them. So let's start:

Luckily, we get a very good comparison of height for most of the Autobots right off the bat, since everyone minus Bulkhead is lined up at the same distance away from the "camera" right here. Getting a good shot of Bulkhead beside another Autobot at around the same distance was much harder, since the animators seem to love putting him at angles which emphasize how huge Bulkhead is, but I got a few of him where he's standing just behind Bumblebee and Arcee. A good one of Wheeljack was hard to get as well, but here's one in comparison to Bulkhead. For Cliffjumper, since he didn't stick around long enough to stand beside anyone in robot mode at the beginning of the series, the only decent comparison for him is in the flashback where he and Bumblebee rescue Arcee from Airachnid. He looks to be about the same height as Bumblebee.

For the Decepticons, the "measuring stick" character is Starscream, considering he interacts with all of them frequently. The problem is that he's almost always slouching or hunched over, but at least his hunched over height is pretty consistent. Starscream stands at just around the bottom of Soundwave's "neck" (here's a comparison between them back-to). Airachnid, when she's in her proper robot mode (I couldn't get any good shots of her in her more spider-like mode), stands just under where Starscream's chest piece ends. Knock Out comes up to under Starscream's chin and just about where the slope of Breakdown's chest ends. It took me ages to get a good comparison between Megatron and any Decepticon because he usually crouches to loom over them all menacingly, but I got a few with Starscream. One has them side-by-side and puts Starscream at a height where comes up a little above where Megatron's chest piece ends. Although, when Starscream stops hunching over at his standard height and brings himself up closer to his potential height he's much taller (just...er...ignore the hilarious poses if you can). Skyquake...there are no really good comparisons for Skyquake. He has a similar habit to Megatron where he likes to hunch and loom over everyone, combined with him never standing exactly as far away from the "camera" as another character. The closest I could get was this very far away shot where Starscream is a few feet behind him and this shot where Starscream's still a few feet behind him but also hunched over even more than usual. As for the Vehicons/Eradicons/whatever, the car, jet, and miner versions are all basically the same height, so I just snapped a screenshot of the miner that was walking beside Breakdown in "Stronger, Faster" for comparison. Apparently they come up to underneath Breakdown's chest.

And to tie the heights of the characters from both factions together, I went with this shot of Optimus and Megatron chest-to-chest. The top of Optimus' head is right around Megatron's eye level.

I hope all that helps.  I love having height charts for reference, so it'll be interesting if you can put all that information together and come up with a finished chart.

Thanks for those. I'll look over them and do adjustments when I have time. Main thing I can see right now is that I need to make Wheeljack shorter. Others I'm kind of unsure about still.

They all mass shift to varying degrees, Optimus being the least.

Sorry for the picture overload. Like some have said, it's nearly impossible to perfectly nail down the heights of everyone. It seems as though they change to some degree per screenshot or episode. Anyway, based on the these pics of Optimus and Megs, I'd say it id safe to say that Megatron is a head taller than Optimus.

Updated, albeit only slight adjustments mostly based on what Cevel posted. Downsized Wheeljack a lot, slightly downsized Skyquake, made Soundwave, Knock Out, Breakdown, and Cliffjumper slightly bigger. Made Ratchet a smidge smaller so he's just barely the same height as Bulkhead.

I really doubt the mining Vehicons are the same height as all the other ones, unless the scale in this show is seriously off. Starscream and Bulkhead are shown to be just barely taller than the car/plane ones (see Darkness Rising episode where Bulkhead rips out that Vehicon's guts in front of Miko), yet the mining one is practically waist level with Breakdown.

As from Bruce Brazos' movie quote, "F***ing AWESOME!"

    Love the scraplet's scale. :lol

Oh hey, you revised it! Very nice. Thanks for doing this! :thumbs2:

Heh, yeah. That was just a guess on my part.  I looked for good shots of the Vehicons last and I just gave up after a while because all I kept finding was Vehicons standing at the same level as...other Vehicons. Which wouldn't help with a height chart, of course.

Yeah. It's surprisingly hard to find Vehicons next to other characters.

The new version looks a lot more accurate. This looks good to me. Thank you so much for making this. It looks like Airachnid is the smallest decepticon in the show while Arcee is the smallest autobot.
Edit: I forgot about Airachnid existing. Knockout is not the smallest decepticon after all. Sorry about that.

Opps I forgot about Airachnid existing. And plus I really don't care for Airachnid like I do the other characters. Thanks for reminding me. I had a dumb moment there. :banghead:

Anyone happen to have a white or transparent background Airachnid image that has her full robot mode? If so I'll add it.

Is that really a side-to-side scale? It looks like Knock Out is in the foreground.

Funny you forget about her when she's practically the second-in-command :lolol  Or was, at least.

Pretty much side-by-side. A few seconds before:

Even if it wasn't, she's still much smaller than Knock Out:

Great chart man, very much needed! after getting the figures I've been trying to see how close to scale they actually are (with the obvious exception of Arcee). Now that you guys point it out though, I find it funny that Airachnid, a helicopter, is a smaller bot than Knockout, a 2-door european-esque(?) sports car. Although she became a diff model of copter than the one she scanned, but still.. lol.

Awesome job. I only have a few suggestions. I think Arcee is a bit bigger and Megatron is a little smaller(but not by much)
