Sorry everyone, but Transformers Prime can be found on Netflix and Bluray, so the links are now gone.

Where are all the season 1 episodes? I gotta have them all!!!

Simple, Amazon. You can buy the complete season 1 from Amazon here in glorious HD on the magnificent Blu-Ray medium. At the moment, the price is $39.99.

But but but, I'm in a country where the DVDs aren't available, what about me?!?!

Ummm, riiiight. First, don't buy DVDs, they will cause you to become blind and deaf. This is what is shown to prisoners to make them speak. If you really want them, you'll have to wait for the Blurays to be available or import them. Likely you can get the blurays for around $50 shipped to you, and a bluray player (region A), will set you back around $60 or more plus shipping. It's not as good as free, but since you are a transformers fan, you must collect toys, so may have to be a little choosier for a bit.

Why don't you encode with h264 or MKV?

Simple - compatibility. Yes, those codecs can make for a slightly smaller file size or improve the quality a tad, but more people have problems with those formats than they do with XVID.

I want your episodes even faster, why can't you just do direct downloads?

For those with fat download connections, sites like megaupload and rapidshare can be a god-sent. However, those sites do not help people with marginal bandwidth, and they have a traffic limit, meaning there's a limit to how many files or how much data can be downloaded each day for a particular file to different countries. With torrents, there's no such problem. Because of that, I release the torrents first. However, a direct download is usually available in a couple hours.

What platforms will these videos play on?

My videos will play on any computer with the XVID codec, PS3, XBox360, and a lot of other platforms. Chances are you can play them and play them smoothly.

I was stupid and bought a Mac. Why can't I play your videos?

Sorry to hear about your dumb luck. You can get a plugin/codec for quicktime here: http://www.mireth.com/arts/about-xvid-mac.html

When will new episodes be ready?

I pride myself in being able to get episodes encoded and shared in about 30 minutes after they are. I have tweaked my encoder settings to allow me to do this.

How are you able to do HD videos?

After my dismal performance right after TF Prime aired, I went back to the drawing boards. Just before Christmas, I bought an HD Capture Card (AverTV HD DVR) for $100. I'm still trying to recoup the costs (see my sig) so I can bring the fans the best videos as soon as possible.

You used to have great videos, but they weren't very good when TF Prime aired. Are they better now?

Yes, see above. When it first aired, I was trying to screen capture my slingbox playing an HD source. Reality is, that method just couldn't capture video smoothly or fast enough. Now that I've upgraded to an HD Capture card, I can record straight from my Verizon FIOS box.

I don't like torrents, will you help me?

My preference is to host these files as torrents. However, they don't work for everyone so I will always try to offer them as direct downloads with Megaupload. However, if too many people download them at a time, megaupload may require you to wait awhile. To download my really big files, you will need to have a Megaupload Premium Account.

How long will the links be available?

As soon as Hasbro releases a Blu-Ray (ok, DVD too for those of you stuck in the SD age), the links will come down. My torrent links may go down a few weeks after an episode airs, but the direct download link will stay.

How do you capture/encode these videos?

I have a Verizon Fios HD box connected to an HD capture card in my computer. I use the card's software to capture the video in MPEG format. From there, I load it into VirtualDub, cut the commericials, load my encoding settings (usually xvid with a target quantizer of 3.5 and 192 kpbs 48 khz sound), and start encoding the video. The total editting and encoding process takes me about 30 minutes.

Wait a minute, I thought the first 5 episodes didn't turn out well for you, but you have them listed here. What's the deal?

Yes, originally they weren't very good, but I never deleted them from my DVR. After I upgraded my hardware, I was able to re-capture them and here's the outcome.

How do you have a movie for Darkness Rising?

I did a quick edit of the 5 part miniseries to create 1 video. I cut out 4 intros and 4 sets of credits too. It's not a true movie, but a lot of people were asking for this.

The audio is out of sync, I hate you Dark Prime!

I'm sorry to hear that. Truth be told, the audio is sometimes slightly out of sync from my FIOS box and sometimes it's out of sync when recorded on my computer. Everytime I encode a video, I make a slight correct, usually on the order of 0.2 seconds or less (with audio coming too late). If your audio is drifting out of sync during the playback, that usually means you have conflicting codecs running that are speeding up or slowing down the video stream. Try uninstalling all your codecs, reboot, and only install what you need. That fixes things ~90% of the time.

    Are your videos on YouTube?

No, I do not post my videos on youtube. Technically the contents of the videos are copyrighted by Hasbro, and as such, I am not permitted to make one penny off of these, nor is anyone else. I will not place videos on youtube because they are publicly available that way and ads that appear on/before/after/during the video can generate money for someone else. I am now using google drive that is semi-public (you must have a link to it) and no ads will ever appear for anyone.

Yeah right, I see your videos on youtube afterall!

Well maybe you do, but that's because there are one or two people who take my videos and repost them on your youtube channels and claim them as their own. Some of these people also try to make money off of the videos too. You'll notice every once and awhile that their accounts become closed and it's due to that.

SUH-weet! Can't wait for your encodes this time around, Dark!

It felt... weird to be downloading torrents that didn't have "DP" written somehow.

No "last time on" or intros for the latter four eps. Basically no interruptions.

The sound should be very much in-sync in my videos, but the ipad version may be a bit out of sync. I'm on travel and will confirm this weekend. If it is, I'll adjust it.

Curious: why use XviD instead of H.264?

What is the difference in display resolution (picture size) between 'All videos are 1280x720 resolution' and the one entitled : "720p Megaupload JWF BEST VERSION" on the other thread : http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...orrents-episode-downloads-youtube-thread.html ?

Its nice to have something that works on consoles mind... I was just curious about difference in size, sound and picture quality between the two stated versions ?

Thanks so much for your hard work, DP. Quality of the "movie" edit you assembled is great! I will help keep seeding the torrent until the wheels fall off. :)

The droid version worked on my Droid - I'll double check it again.

I am not using h264 for my main encodes (I did for the ipad version) because consoles have trouble playing that format and xvid is more compatible with a greater range of devices.

The "JWF Best Versions" are also 1280x720 and both are 720p. Who's version is better? Tough to say, but my version plays better on more devices and my version can be generated in a fraction of the time it takes for that other one. If you can't tell, I'm trying to reclaim my spot as the best source to get these episodes from.
