And he's never looked better! Saw this over on deviantart. I love how they kept all the Beast Hunter armor upgrades, but kept him looking slim instead of bulking him out. A much better appearance IMO.
I always hated how bulky Optimus 2.0 was. He looked silly to me. Even if that chaingun looked cool. The picture does look nicer. I mean, is it just me? His head looks ridiculously tiny compared to his body.
You're not alone. The design is awful to me, and it's not as well modelled as most characters. It has more flat shapes that'd be easy to render and not as many nice textures.
I actually really like BH Optimus in the show. He's super beefy and over the top, and I feel he doesn't really match the previous designs all that well...and still I love him. Really hope he'll one day get a Masterpiece-esque treatment, as none of the toys that exist of him do him justice.
That's some nice artwork. I kinda like the design we got in the show, but he was definitely too bulky.
The art Mako Crab posted is definitely much better than the show's design. Whoever told Lopez to bulk him up really dropped the ball. Still, it's better than his previous wasp-waist design.
I feel the RID design is the better take on the character, he's not so slim that he feels like a runner yet not so bulky that he looks like a brick. He's just the right level of huge to still feel like a guy that becomes a truck.
That's amazing! I know people will bash one me for this, but BH Prime is my third favorite Prime design following CW Prime and first place belonging to RID2015 Prime.
Beefimus Prime was pretty hilarious. He certainly has more meat on him now. XD Goddamnit, I miss those hips of his.
