I like how they made Drift sound like Ken Watanabe.
Also I really like Fracture and his goons, much more then Lockdown honestly.
Drifts Minicons were honestly kinda cute in this, is that weird for me to say?

I kinda expected Fracture to say, "You think you were born Bumblebee? You were built, and they want you back".

I think you're right. The references to the council throughout the series summarized in the next episode's thread leads me to believe that there's some major corruption in the council. If this happens to be the case, I'm looking forward to the outcome of this development.

I really wanted to like this episode. But I'm not sure why, but it mostly didn't do much for me.

Drift was way too one dimensional, which I realize was mostly the point, but still. Fracture at least was fun.

    Yeah....That was cool.

Eric Bauza's Drift is like a more refined, smoother and less unintentionally hilarious take on Watanabe's Drift.

Man if it is. He's useing it like its a IDW great sword. Because all he's thrown out are bombs and daggers, and its down to his own ego to not consider drift enough of a threat to warrant it.

Silly Answer is the ammunition is rare and expensive. Like the caster gun shells from Outlaw Star.

I was wondering that myself when I was watching this episode, but he never used it or mentioned it...
Then I saw the McDonald's Happy Meal toy of him using it as some kind of gun, but I don't know how reliable this is.
I really hope it's true though, because that would be awesome. :D

Next time, you might want to make a separate thread for news instead of shooting down my thread. How should I know you posted this inside an unrelated episode discussion? Also, you might wanna post a news topic on this, you might get a news credit too.

Pretty strong episode. Fracture, Drift, and their Minicons were good new characters. Fracture was just a really good villain (all the reasons have already been discussed). I loved the action with him; he was cunning and used tricks and strategy. I look forward to seeing what he does next.

I liked the inversion of tropes, as was discussed in this thread earlier. 'Bee doesn't surrender at the 'I have your friends' moment and Russell's plan with the video-game fails. There wasn't much humor in this episode. But, Sideswipe's 'Strongarm isn't oafish' (which was a little sweet as well) and the bit at the beginning where Grimlock was watching Denny doing his disguises (until Russell got involved :thumbdown ) were pretty funny.

The subplot with Denny and Russell made sense but was rushed and not very interesting - mainly because Russell's such an annoying, crappy character.

Finally, it looks like Jazz's report hasn't been heeded. Just more fuel to the 'corruption in the Council' possible plotline.

I never really thought Russell is annoying, if anything he's one of the more tolerable kids in the franchise but I can understand why a lot of people don't like him.

I thought that sub plot was a weird inclusion in this episode.

It's official... Fracture is my favorite Decepticon in this series... and my reason to keep watching this show. I'm actually kind of seeing some similarities between the Decepticons of this series and the human super villains in Animated. Fracture is like Meltdown being the only villain I can actually take seriously. Filch is like the Headmaster because I really liked the concept of the characters more than their actual portrayals. The other Decepticons are just as dumb as the other super villains who I really don't give a scrap about.

How was Filch a good concept. Filch was cliched as hell and obviously lame, 1 dimensional and had an annoying voice.

I said good concept but hated the way she was portrayed. You're talking about the portrayal of the character not the concept.

The concept is the stuff we get to see before the character actually shows up in an episode. At that point I didn't know she would be like that. All I knew was that she was going to be one of the only Decepticons in this series with a proper robot mode.

I actually don't mind the fact that she's basically just a common thief. I mean all the Decepticons in this series seem to be petty criminals... except for Underbite who ate an entire city. The others are pretty easily compared to common thugs while the closest real life comparison to Underbite I can think of is a terrorist.

Anyway, what I don't like about her is that she's portrayed as being mentally challenged. She can only say three words and she steals things not because they're actually valuable but because they're shiny. They have her labeled as a thief but really she's not. Real thieves actually understand the value of the things they take and they sell them on the black market. Those are criminals. Filch is just a mentally challenged person who doesn't even understand that what she's doing is wrong. Not only is the character annoying but considering I have dealt with handicapped people like her, she's also extremely offensive. The twins on Rescue Bots are handled better than her. One of them can't talk at all but at least they're smart enough to go after things of value rather than just "Shiny! Mine!" You can't label someone a criminal when they clearly don't even understand the consequences of their actions.

Tomokazu Sugita will be voicing Drift in the Japanese dub of Adventures/RID.

That's right we got Joseph Joestar, Gintoki Sakata, Kyon, Yuichi Aizawa and Ragna The Bloodege as Drift. That is awesome.

This episode was the first episode of the series I truly enjoyed and the first one that felt like TransFormers. Probably because it wasn't full of cutesy-ness and bad jokes and had actual things of interest that made sense going on. No cop-outs and actual pacing too. Even Fixit's speech pattern was more cleverly used in this episode. I thought Drift and his Microns were well done and Fracture pretty good as far as Decepticons go in this series. The only disappointment was that Drift didn't transform. I also agree that I was waiting for Fracture to use that kibble on his back. Strange.

Looks like we need more from David McDermott. I can only hope the show progresses from here and doesn't revert back like it did after a couple passable episodes a few episodes back. Last week was atrocious. I have never seen a show go so night and day in one week.
