An amazing episode. Drift is one of the best Autobots on the show and his toy does him even more justice.
I loved hearing Shinji Hirako's/Sonics voice in Jetstream and Slipstream (sorry if I'm wrong).

I loved this episode! Drift and Fracture added a lot of depth to the series. Drift shows that not all Autobots are wonderful heroes, some are just kind of dicks. Fracture is a Council sanctioned Decepticon, so he shows that not only is Decepticon no longer just a way to refer to the warband under Megatron it also doesn't just mean criminal or crazy bot on cybertron. Maybe Decepticon is just a political group now, and some of the council are Decepticons.

Fracture was also not a bad guy at all really. What did he do? He tried to collect the legal bounty on BB, he detained BB's team who are technically aiding and abetting a criminal, and he fought Drift who was at that point doing the same. The worst that can be said is he fights dirty, but when it's 3 vs 9 or 10 I think that's perfectly fine. (I think what Drift was calling fighting dirty was just having a strategy but that's neither here nor there).

The Fracture vs Drift fight was awesome, and made me want to own their minicons. Great episode.

I thought the episode was the best yet because it wasn't playing the tune of "catch this week's monster." It reminded me of "Loose Cannons" from Prime.

To start, Fracture was really cool and presented a clear challenge to the Autobots. If it weren't for Drift, they would've been defeated. And because he's off running about, perhaps he'll fall in under Steeljaw. And now the Autobots have a spacebridge, like they did in Prime (groundbrigdge).

The one question I really want answered is: if the Autobot Council sent Drift, who sent Fracture?

Something could be said about Fracture trying to execute Drift twice in the same day instead of simply fighting off to keep his bounty. He said it himself, he wanted the money AND a chance to kill Drift for good too while Drift merely wanted the bounty and not actualy actively hurt Fracture.

I honestly doubt Fracture is working for the High Council.

Was anyone else expecting Fracture to sound like Christopher Walken or William Shatner? hehe

I guess the council put out an open bounty so it's fair game to everyone?

Since Jazz just visited them in the last episode, I'm beginning to think that the council is a bunch of inpatient jerk. They didn't even wait for Jazz to report to them. Or, things can be much darker if the reason they made a big deal of Bee using the space bridge is because they feel threaten by Bee, a respected war hero, went out of their grip and they want to get rid of him using this incident.

I love this episode so much! Drift was a neat character. I especially love his little minicons, I kind of felt sorry for them though, lol. Fracture was very awesome too, with his minicons. I definitely see why people say this episode was more like Prime. It felt different, but it was in a good way. I hope both of them return soon!

Keep in mind that Jazz only showed up due to Fixit's distress call, he wasn't expecting to find Bee and the others there. The Council more than likely didn't see the two incidents as related and put the bounty on Bee while they sent Jazz to check out the distress signal.

However the fact that a Council of officials use "bounties" as a means of bringing in suspects seems a bit...corrupt. They have an established police force as seen in the pilot so why did they put out a bounty? And they have no problem sending officials to off world locations to check things out since Jazz could arrive on Earth, so why not send a police squad to check things out? Me thinks the Council could be the reason Optimus wanted Bee on Earth, not just to recapture Decepticons but to get away from Cybertron and essentially start a resistance to a corrupt government.

Good call. I totally forgot Jazz was answering to Fixit's distress call.

Yeah, the whole bounty business just sounds a bit weird to me, especially when they let everyone, included Fracture to get Bee.

Man, Episode 12 knocked it out of the park. It was rather serious in tone unlike other episodes. Voice Acting is perfect... just perfect.

Fracture is a very likable villain. He reminds me of Knockout when he first appeared. You know, less goofy and more ruthless. There was this sense of style even when he walked. His actions spoke for him. One of the best Decepticons to date. And not just for RID.

Drift is an Asian stereotype done right. As eabevella said, he's the typical honorable, no-nonsense, strict, never praising his children kind of an Asian father figure.

    Awesome episode. Nicely done.

I know I said that I doubt they're going for a corrupt government storyline here. Especially considering the younger target audience compared to Prime. But.....

Putting a bounty on Bumblebee's head is sketchy as hell. Now they HAVE to go through with it.

Just got the chance to rewatch the episode again and I noticed something else that's pretty interesting with this episode that I actually don't see much in shows in children's programming

Fracture does the whole "I have your friends and I'll only let them go if you-" thing and Bee doesn't immediate offer to surrender, heck they did the same thing in Prime when Megatron has the kids in his possession and Optimus surrenders because of it, and that situation had much higher stakes than a simple bounty collection.

    Yup, that was pretty great!

I also liked how Russell came up with a plan to save the day, and it didn't work at all. I think it's very healthy and fresh to see the kid character 'fail' like that.
He had a couple ideas that worked and some that didn't work - instead of just being the hero all the time, which is the angle most kid shows are going with.

I don't know, we still use bounty hunters in the real world in this day and age.

true a council sending a bounty hunter on someone's head is a bit shady, but we don't know "which council" sent a bounty hunter

To be fair, in that situation it wasn't "i'll let them go" it was "the keys or i actualy kill them right here right now in your face"
