Valid points. That said, TFS prime, Legend Of Korra, and Nick TMNT are great examples of series that appealed to both adults and kids. TFS Prime figures and Nick TMNT i think also have a "ages 6 and up", its the "and up" I am talking about.

Like I said, I dont hate the show and I will never shoot down anything that introduced the brand to a new generation of kids. Just a hard adjustment from TFS Prime, especially when it was being advertised as a Prime continuation.

Also, again, I have only watched the first two episodes, so I can't judge anything so quickly. I will say that I almost was preparing for a scene with Sideswipe and the kid to start playing on the radio, "The Wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, the wipers on the bus go swish swish swish, swish swish swish"

Also, I didn't say that this was a G1 reboot, I just said I thought it would be cool if we got that one day, and for the record, I loved Jeresy Shore lol

No, I've been watching it as the episodes are shown on cartoon network. its not a bad show, and also I'm not a dick who wishes bad things to happen to kids cartoon shows. yeah then there's that.

Still don't see the problem with that, I Rather see two fun shows that a whole family can enjoy, then a show that takes itself too seriously, and thinks its being"dark"

like what prime did? and then tried to be "hip" by throwing in that stupid CAN I HAZ CHEEZEBURGER?! meme.

while its good to have a show for the "whole" family, do they really need two?

Hasbro's pretty much trying to shore up the brand at this point - AoE flopped hard despite being a movie line according to the sales numbers due to way too many side lines and a poorly supported main line with two total bad guys.

And Hasbro does cater to the adult fan base - that's literally the entire reason Classics has kept evolving into Generations/CW.

Hasbro might be trying to do a new iteration of the A/E/C plan that worked out pretty well before the movies came along, and if there's anything that can be said about those UT toys, it's that they are durable as all hell because they're meant for kids.

So you don't like the kind of humor for a kids show - doesn't mean the kids don't get entertained by that kind of thing.

    Dude - IDW comics.

All the G1 reboot you need.

And that means more toy sales for Hasbro.

I'm not really seeing how Hasbro making a children's toy line be more appealing to children is exactly a bad thing here.

    Yes.

You think kids aren't going to innocently force their parents into watching this stuff with them?

I've always thought of the alligned continuity being the second attempt at the Unicron Trilogy.

and IMO that's not a bad thing.

I don't hope it flops - I still despies the animation and a few of the characters (but the later is true of all TF shows) but the tone and story are fine. I do think it may have a little too much tonal overlap with RB - that said the show is at least fun and as long as I have the comics I have something more mature for me to enjoy so let this show run its course. I give it three seasons (mostly because there's kind of a history to TF and three seasons.)

Plus, Prime didn't try to be dark. That would mean tackling mature issues seemingly randomly and for no reason whereas everything that happen was for a reason. I don't think Japan has this problem, they don't seem to have the need to underestimate what children can handle. Just look at the mature aspects of the Unicron trilogy.

What Prime did do is have a dark tone, with unusual amounts of violence and death for a cartoon, despite not ever bothering to tackle any heavy issues, and justify it's tone.

Almost all the Autobots were mopy, overly dramatic, and dull. I can only assume they were afraid showing them having fun wouldn't be gritty enough. Then there's the show constantly trying to,convince us that things are desperate for the Autobots, despite how easily they always won. And it didn't help that they had to always kill the Decepticons, to be dark and gritty, but too afraid to kill any of the Autobots.

I've only seen one RiD episode and it was in Canadian or whatever language I didn't understand and it was still roughly 50 times better than Prime.

    Keep doing this.

Now the toys on the other hand...

The show is not my cup of tea but I'm not going to wish it's demise. I understand that others like it so I'll let them have their fun. I can always watch something else. The toys are simply not worth it. What kills it is they are based on a animation style I don't like on top being cheaply made.
