Well, the third episode has finished airing about half an hour ago, so it's time for another thread! Spoilers abound (but this first post will have spoilers tagged, just in case), so beware.

Troy Baker once again proves that he's an amazing voice actor. Steeljaw is a horrible dude... in a good way. You can tell just how evil and manipulative he is from the way he talks and what he says. He's as powerful intellectually as he is physically, and we could be looking at a highly enjoyable character that'll become a major part of the franchise going forward.

Strongarm and Sideswipe's rapport continues to grow, and it's still highly enjoyable.

By the way, David Kaye as Hammerstrike = friggin' awesome. Sharkticons = pirates now? Perhaps it's stereotypical (a bit like the pirate voice), but it's so well done that it sells the whole package.

It's interesting to see just how quickly Bumblebee comes to trust Grimlock. There's no way they're going to ignore that. Grimlock is a really good character, and I think they're going to do a decent amount with his character, which they should.

Fixit's speech patterns are still predictable, which is still annoying, but Fixit is still fun. The humans prove to be pretty useful without being overused or annoying, and that's exactly how they should be.

Overall, the episode is pretty good, and arguably does a lot more than the previous two. From everything I've seen so far, including synopses for future episodes, I'm assuming that season one is a lot of character setup. I think season two is going to be the real meat of this show. I don't think I can wait that long, but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

I just managed to finish watching it thanks to the much-faster Mega download, and boy was I impressed!

I like the greater variety of characters in this one, between Steeljaw's first appearance (the whole manipulative bastard angle is very well-played-- I myself can't even tell exactly when he's lying or not at times!) and Hammerstrike being an awesome Sharkticon pirate. I like that David Kaye at least went with a slightly different kind of "pirate" accent from the norm, and his whole "Ocean superior, land inferior!" schtick was pretty funny. Plus the humans continue to be a lot more interesting and different than their appearance would suggest, and the interplay between the various Autobots is really entertaining. If anything, this one just made me crave more future stuff, between fleshing out the setting and the backgrounds of Autobots and Decepticons alike. This next coming week is gonna feel like forever, haha...

I really enjoyed how Bumblebee and Grimlock captured Hammerstrike. It was funny but clever.

I also like the idea that they're rounding up the Decepticons and putting them back into stasis. It's far more interesting than just beating them up and watching them retreat. I wonder if they're going to get to a stage where they run out of stasis pods because some are beyond repair or Fixit can't repair them quick enough. That'd be quite interesting. We might also see some tower defence sorta stuff if some Decepticons such as Steeljaw get the idea to try rescuing their allies.

Just watched it, Hammerstrike was okay but the real star was Steeljaw.

Steeljaw is easily the best original Decepticon in years, Manipulative, Cunning, Intelligent, and Dangerous. Also the voice actor who does him, does him perfectly. But wither or not his attempts at going strait are sincere remains to be seen, though I think he's lying though his teeth.
Definitely a worthy Decepticon leader, at least until one of the decepticon higher ups shows up

Grimlock being a the big lovable oaf in this is okay, but I'm just too use to his usual badass G1 like self we all know and love.

Hammerstrike's personality got a little annoying, I mean the surface isn't that bad.
He wouldn't last very long in the decepticon army

Just finished episode 3 and I'm very impressed with how the Decepticons are being handled so far. I was worried at first they'd just be generic animal themed baddies of the week with little to no personalities but boy was I wrong.

Also I like how they're giving some forms of explanation for the animal alt modes so far,
they aren't so much animal modes as they are sub-species of cybertronians like Sharkticons and Chompazoids
    .

Cannot wait for more episodes just to see what new characters come with these new Cons.

I love the fact that Sideswipe called himself "GrimBee" for me was a mix between Grimlock and Bumblebee's name! :lol

I love Steeljaw, he will be a wonderfull decepticon leader, you can tell that he is trully evil and the VA make a wonderfull job.
Hammerstrike with Dave Kaye's voice I like it and it's really good to hear again a VA that loves TF so mucho like us!!

YES. This, this, so much this.
This whole approach of different Cybertronian subgroups is proving really intriguing so far, and it paints a far more interesting picture of the prisoners as a whole. Instead of just "a bunch of beast mode guys who were imprisoned because beasts", they're guys with unique abilities that allowed them to commit the crimes that got them locked up. And on top of that, it's just cool to see the Cybertronian race itself expanded upon with all these different species. Makes them seem less monolithic and less of a Planet of Hats, you know? I wanna see what Thunderhoof, Filch, and Chop Shop are classified as when they show up. If Chop Shop is either an Insecticon or an Arachnicon, I will be screaming "I SO CALLED IT!".

There's just so many possibilities here and that's what I'm loving about the show so far. Each Con is getting an explanation, a character, personality and detail and that's just the Cons themselves, we'll more than likely finally get to see
all the original thirteen Primes fleshed out more and again all of these species of Cybertronians that we get to be introduced to.

Going to agree with Chop Shop as an Insecticon, and I'm thinking that Filch will be a Predacon, Terrashock as a Minotoron and Quillfire as a Frizz-rat.

I think that may be pushing it, I mean do we really need a subgroup name for EVERY animal looking Decepticon?

Honestly it all depends how they implement the new subgroups in the show, and whether they're really needed or not.
Calling Hammerstrike a Sharkticon just makes sense and it fits, it's a quick mention of his species that helps us identify the character a bit more. And without a new subspecies or some sort of explanation Underbite's powers the viewer would be wondering more about why he is the way he is.

Now if they do this with a character like Fracture then yeah they'd be pushing it, but for the ones with special traits or powers who need one then that's fine in my book.

I'm really enjoying it so far. I like the individual characters, the baddie of the week format, and the art style. Bumblebee is growing on me, he does seem like a logical next step in WFC/Prime BB's story. Sideswipe and Strongarm are good rookie characters. Fixit is lovable. Grimlock is entertaining, even if he really isn't Grimlock anymore (thank goodness for plot convenient amnesia). The Decepticons are being handled well, and there are going to be so many of them!

Steeljaw has the potential to be a real standout character. I dread an episode where he gets revealed as just a regular evil Decepticon, I hope they keep his nuance and complexity.

Loved it. Just when I was about to give up on the awkward dialogue from GrimBee to Steeljaw, things changed.

Hammerstrike was great. That mean Cybershark, Overbite, Skalor, and the other sharks are Sharkticons? If so, neat!

Steeljaw... I love him. Voice acting is great.

Heheh, this was more like it. :D

Without having to worry about all the exposition and setup we got an episode with nice development, funny moments and cool action.

Steeljaw is such a show stealer, the guy oozes carisma and his portrayal is excellent.

A good episode if I do say so myself! GrimBee though? Good lord, I think the creators are shippers. Then again, all the good names were taken, sorry Sides. XD

Anyways, the comedy gave me some little giggles. I loved David Kaye's return to voicing a character after his time as Hardshell in Transformers Prime for a few brief episodes. I hope he returns soon!

Strongarm and Sideswipe still don't get along by the end of the episode, somewhat. I'm not surprised that Grimlock is actually a Leeroy Jenkins, but nevertheless a loveable goofball, but definitely a Leeroy.

The animation is picking up pretty well the more the episodes go on. The flow of it is getting a bit better than it was in the first two episodes. Still was a little weird to see an animated fish interacting with Grimlock, but then again I've seen it before in Transformers Cybertron where the kids are animated and the Cybertronians are CGI.

Steeljaw was very well voiced too, I'm liking him straight off the bat. Even the body language of the Autobots and the Decepticons are getting quite easy to understand for me. Facial expression wise too.

I give the episode 9.5/10. Why not a ten? Got to blame Fixit for the constant glitching, but I'll get used to it. Eventually.
