Whoops! I didn't know. My bad. I don't pay attention to credits on the beginning or end.

And I finished watching the second episode! It was amazing and it caught me by surprise. Optimus being awesome like he always does! Wow! I think I'm gonna like Sideswipe now. He seems like he's the actual bot who will be the kid appeal character with his friendship with Russell.

Strongarm I'll need a little more time to warm up to. Fixit, he seems ok, but his constant glitching is a little annoying at most. Grimlock? What an adorable dork! I love him!

The two part episodes had a good start! Absolutely love it!

So suffice to say, the real star of this series is the animation team at Polygon.

Framerate issues aside (which is probably more a case of the chosen framerate to render at) the animation itself is AMAZING. I won't be surprised if they win awards for this CGI given how much character they're able to get out of those designs. Everyone is just oozing personality, and I can already tell the art decision to go with beastial Decepticons is going to pay off BIG TIME, going off Grimlock and Underbite.

Though I was lukewarm on the changes to Grimlock coming into the series, he's Cyborg as a dinosaur. Which is just making me wish that we had Greg Cipes voicing a regular on the show for him to bounce off of.

    (Greg Cipes as Swoop, please!)

Well, that certainly beats multiple sentences of me trying to explain THAT.

I agree on Grimlock. He turned out way better than I expected. I just hope they don't just make "the bruiser". Considering that Underbite called him a Dinobot, I think it's fair to assume that there are other Dinobots in this universe, and therefore there is a quite real chance of the others appearing. Or at least Swoop, because we need Swoop.

I really enjoyed the first two eps (Thanks for putting them up TCJJ!)

It feels like it's aiming for a middle ground between Rescue Bots and Prime, and that's a good place to aim for. I loved Prime but I felt at times it was a bit too super serious for a kid show, it could have done with a few more fun episodes or even some jokes tossed in.

TFRiD really did make me chuckle(loved the 'What's a dad?' joke and Bee's follow up to it)

And Genericons! Precious background characters! I missed you so.

Did it ever state how long after Prime this is set? I was a wee bit confused by one comment from Bee. He mentioned Sideswipe and Strongarm being teenagers. Obviously he meant it in the Cybertronian sense(I think?) but the Allspark was sent away a LONG time ago. New sparks could only have been born after the end of Predecons Rising. It's entirely possible I'm over thinking this.

I'm starting to think maybe five or ten years, but it's hard to tell without confirmation from either the characters or the creators themselves. But I know that it takes place a long time after Prime because of the way how Bee reacts to setting foot on Earth again because he sounded like he hadn't been there in a long time.

Considering I had really low expectations, the first two episodes turned out pretty good.
    Looking forward to seeing more.

I loved Prime and I'm liking how this show feels like a good Prime episode. It was well acted even Darren Criss who as a Glee watcher (who has only been watching out of perverse obligation) i was worried he'd just be a metal Blane i was quite pleased with his acting, most of the other cast are established so i didn't have much worry about them.
On the timeline i hope its about 10-15 years later so if any humans re-appear they would still be close to how we saw them but also established in whatever field they work in (Unit E for example with Raf in the M.A.S.K division) that would be quite nice and the original VA's could return.

I finally watched episode 2. It did a good job of entertaining me. The humor in this series is definitely a lot better than I feared, for the most part, and there was a lot more action in this episode.

Things I forgot about last time. So, no Orci or Kurtzman. That's probably a good thing. Also, I hate the name they gave whatever Underbite is. What was it? Chompazoid?

Now, onto this new stuff. Maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention, but I think this episode had a better frame rate in the action sequences. Maybe it was just a better recording?

There were a lot of little moments I really enjoyed in this episode. Strongarm bouncing as she entered the battlefield, Fixit's smirk when Bee called him back to explain the capture devices, Denny helping to push Underbite. I am really liking Denny. If there's one thing I think the Aligned cartoons are good at, it's human characters.

Fixit isn't great, but I'm hoping we'll see an increased number of times when he makes himself useful, like with the capture devices. And hopefully the things he does won't always fail halfway through the mission.

Grimlock was alright, but I really miss FOC Grimlock, who was actually kind of interesting. Hopefully this one will become interesting too once we get into why he was imprisoned, which may show a darker side to the Autobots, going by that bio that used to be on the Hasbro website.

I really hope Optimus doesn't make a habit out of bailing out Bee's team. I'm OK with it here, since this is the team's first time working together, but if it keeps happening, this series will go the way of the Cybertron cartoon.

All in all, the episode was enjoyable enough. These first 2 episodes rose above my fears, and met my expectations. I'm looking forwards to seeing how this show progresses.

Optimus has his own mission and has no time to babysit Bee's team, he will show up on more time for advice in episode 5 and begin his mission in episode 14

    That's good to know.

:lol  I totally forgot about that scene. Underbite has almost single-handedly crushed all my fears about how the Decepticons will be portrayed in this series.

I'd say a bit more than that. Did you see that city?

I'm thinking more like a few decades, half a century..... Maybe more.

Guys, please try to avoid spoilers for future episodes. Episode five is only a week away, anyway. Leave them for that episode's discussion thread.

    Spoilers edited.

For info, when the episodes premiere stateside, my intention is to start a fresh thread for those watching the episodes for the first time. Let those who don't watch the early release episodes have a discussion without wading through the spoilers (particularly those who go for the whole play-by-play thing)

With that in mind, thank you for sharing all of this, and I'll look forward to future threads - though I'll be keeping arms length until the UK premiere!
