    This is the only part of the show I'm a little bit worried about so far. I hope they do something cool, but I'm afraid it will be a little gimmicky. Oh well, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

    Which is one (of many) reason why I wish they move on to a new Prime. As much as I do like Optimus (and I truly do). They've over killed that horse to beyond zombie'ness. Rodimus had his reign and that came and passed. Time for Magnus Prime (or whom ever they choose) to come.

    If I'm reading the writers' tea leaves properly, the plan was for him to be like Arthur -- the once and future king.

    There are ways to write stories with superbeings in them. Usually you have ones on each side that balance each other out, account for long absences (e.g. Megatron's time on the life support slab), or otherwise provide plots that their potency doesn't simply overwhelm.
