Could the lose ends with Starscream, Shockwave and Soundwave be tied up in RID?

Wait, if Grimlock is a former con, does it make the comics non-canon?
Then his origins could be different with shockwave not involved

I'm pretty certain he's not aligned with them, the Autobots simply labeled him a Decepticon.

Having a voice actor say the character is dead doesn't mean anything if the writers decide they want him back. Even being killed canonically on screen doesn't. (Megatron, Optimus)

Phoey, I'd have liked Starscream to come back in a form that paid homage to Dark Scream. TFP Starscream was always a bit squirrely in his behavior anyway. His flicking wing movements could be replaced with a flicking tail. They could maybe even have Steve Blum to do it like he did before... aw... what a wasted opportunity. Phoey. :/

At least Blum is still voicing Heatwave in RB. They could always do a guest appearence episide so we'd get some Blum in RID15 XD

    I think that'd be cool.

I just want to have the Prime, RID and Rescue Bots Autobots all come together for an episode and interact.

Then why does he have decepticon symbols? Did the autobot see a green dino tf and yell "decepticon!!" And then slap on some decepticons symbols? That doesn't seem to make much sense

According to his bio, yes, that is exactly what the Autobots did.

It's from the bios in this news post, but the page the links in the post leads to no longer has the bios, that I can see, but they're still in the news post. Robots in Disguise 2015 Character Bios (Major Spoilers!) - Transformers News - TFW2005

It seems the Autobots alleged prejudice against the Predacons in Prime wasn't an accident. That, or the writers saw the fans liked the idea that the Autobots weren't pure good, and decided to include their prejudice towards beastformers in RID.

1.) In Prime weren't the preds extinct until the genetic info was gleaned from the bones?

2.) It makes me wonder how many others are falsely accused & worse the possibility that cons could have agents in Cybertronian government hiding as Autobots

1 is true. For 2, I think that would be a horrible cop out. The idea that the Autobots aren't perfect actually has a level of interestingness to it that is actually detectable to humans.

...This talk beginning to make me think the Autobots are the bad guys in this series. I mean, I mean persecuting cons just because their side lost the war and happen to have organic alternatives? And Prime is supposedly being trained to further persecute them? :/

To be fair the losers in war get persecuted. It's how it works in life.

You're not wrong, but it does feel like Steeljaw's cons are the underdogs (no pun intended) here. While the setting isn't unlike Animated, none of the Decepticons are really threat-level Animated Megatron. It also wouldn't be so bad if the gods themselves weren't backing the good guys so they could further hunt and kill the rest of their enemies. In a war-setting when the cons were winning, perhaps, but things really are bending in the Autobots favor here.

    Hmmm...

Japan at the end of WWII. West Germany at the end of WWII.

Both largely rebuilt at the expense of those who defeated them.

The peace in the U.S. Civil war was *initially* rather forgiving, as evidenced by the terms at Appomattox, but things definitely went downhill with Lincoln's death and the impeachment (but not conviction) of his successor, Andrew Johnson. Johnson was too weak an executive to implement Lincoln's somewhat more forgiving peace.

Not all of those really fit your rule. Germany at the end of WWI, on the other hand, definitely bears your claim out. Perhaps we're doing better.

Moreover, Knockout's position at Optimus Prime's farewell speech proves those who were willing to actively join a united Cybertron are welcome. Seems the 'bots are doing better too.

I don't intend to beat you up in particular, but there's a sick tendency here to try to make out willing brigands, pirates, and the like as somehow being victims when they *clearly* have other options.

I'm sick of aggressors getting the victim card played for them. Granted, even well intentioned conquerors can screw the pooch (the U.S. debacle in Iraq, for example), but that still doesn't make those raising hell somehow victims (I.S.I.S. for example is nobody's victim).

The remaining 'cons aren't victims. They aren't being persecuted. They have better options and they're choosing otherwise.

^ You've got a point or two. Blum said the intent of Starscream's last scene was that he had no place in the new age dawning because he just wanted to continue the war and lord over others. Knock Out was welcomed because while he was cowardly, he decided the best way to move forward was to join the winning team. The Predacons as well have earned their place on Cybertron since they put aside their differences with Team Prime to help save the planet from Unicron.

Megatron has disbanded the Decepticons, but it's not like he can just stop a millennia-old doctrine in one go, look at Starscream. While the more reasonable Decepticons like Breakdown, Shockwave, or the Seeker Twins probably would've joined the Autobots or at least become neutrals post Predacons Rising, some of the more fanatical, psychotic, or bloodthirsty like Hardshell, Soundwave, and Steeljaw would keep going with the Decepticon cause. Or will, in Steeljaw's case. Just like current IDW fiction. Just because Megatron switched sides and ordered Decepticons to stand down doesn't mean everyone will (which is why Tarn's upcoming appearance is very hotly anticipated right now).

Clearly I need to give the IDW stories another chance...

    Thanks for the reminder.
