Transformers 4 was not all that great. It was better than the last 2 films, but that's not saying all that much.

As for RID? Why did they have to end TF Prime for this? TF Prime had it's flaws for sure. But now it's been turned into a cheesy kiddy fest. Not just a kiddy fest. But a cheesy one. This just sounds like Hasbro's desperation to appeal more to the kiddies, sell new toys, and at the same time, keep the old fans so again, they can sell more toys. It seems like Hasbro is desperate for more toy sales since their sales have declined. Which is understandable to a point since that's what they are in the business for. But Optimus Supreme? Really? Is he going to be even more ridiculously bulky than his last TF Prime incarnation? I just can't say Optimus Supreme without thinking of Mexican fast food. Just can't. It's so cheesy. Omega Supreme? Yeah, that name was established long ago and just doesn't have the cheesiness that Optimus Supreme does. Why do they just keep on killing Optimus so they can keep on resurrecting him as something even more ridiculous than his last incarnations? This is getting old. Very old.

I'm hoping for a decent series once RID is gone. Not a decent movie. (Even with Michael Bay's absence, there's a good chance TF 5 will not be much better than TF 4.) But at least a decent series. Keeps fingers crossed.

Sorry RiD2 isn't your cup o tea. It won't be for everybody.

But Prime didn't end "for this." Prime ended because it reached syndication + we now know the Hub was in the process of changing hands. Be thankful it got a full 68 episodes and a proper ending. Many cartoons don't.

Prime ended on its own terms. Which is pretty good in this day and age, most shows don't even get close to that.

How is it that people know so much about RiD, including that it's "kiddy" and "cheesy" when not even one episode has aired? I wasn't around here in 2007, but I'm guessing this is reaction Animated got and look how that turned out.

Also, Optimus Supreme is no more cheesy than Optimus Prime and I'd argue less so than Omega Supreme so...

Yeah this does remind me a lot of the initial reaction to Transformers Animated.

Hard to respect an opinion for a show we've seen 3 minutes of. Optimus supreme is just as cheesy as omega supreme. You're just used to the other one.

I know, right? I'd be using my awesome future powers to get winning lottery numbers, not judging the quality of children's programming. What a waste...

And what is so wrong with Hasbro(a toy company) using a children's TV show to appeal to and sell toys to children? And cheese is awesome. I loved Prime but a bit of cheese would have been very much appreciated now and t hen. Bring on the cheesy goodness!

Is being aimed at kids really that bad? Most of them recently, have been pretty phenomenal.

Er, isn't Hasbro just doing what they've always done? It looks no more cheesy than Animated, or, you know, G1.

God forbid a children's toy company makes a children's show based on a children's toy to appeal to children. Even for how mature it's own plots could get, Animated was as cheesy as any other children's cartoon.

Congrats, you've just described the last two decades of the Transformers franchise.

Let's not exaggerate...more like the last decade :p

Ouch. That hurt man, that hurt

    And don't forget the ham!

That, and many of the complaints in the "How to Save RiD 2" thread also came up:
assumption the show would NOT have complex plots, varied characters, or would just be a one note plot for the entirety of its run.
All of those assumptions were pretty much debunked by the end of the FIRST SEASON.

I agree, in fact, the franchise seems to be going downhill, which is disappointing. The toys, the shows, and I won't even bring up the films.

I'm really disappointed in this new show. I like things to be kid-friendly, but I also don't like things to be too kiddy. This show is just ridiculously kiddy looking, I only hope it will improve over time. I'll watch it, and I may even have fun with it, but I don't think it will hook me as much as TFP did.

Yeah, heaven forbid you bring up the billion dollar film franchise which has made practically everything we take for granted since 2008 even possible.

Transformers is certainly on a "cool down" phase, something ALL hit brands experience after the extreme peaks Transformers reached in 2009 and 2010. But the brand is still LEAGUES above where it was ten years ago, much less fifteen. And we still maintain more retail space than pretty much any action figure brand out there short TMNT.

    What does that even MEAN?!?
