Wait a minute, where exactly is this "supreme" title coming from? If a Prime is the highest title you could have, and knowing Optimus is the 13th according to the Aligned stuff, this is going to somehow make him better than the rest of the 13? Why not "Optimus Primus" or "Optimus Super Kami Guru Prime"?

 

I'm not considering RID canon.
The "supreme" title is a joke and is ridiculous. They throw away previous elements just to make the story look "better". They fail every time. Energon, remember how that threw out most of the old lore established in Armada?

I hate that they pulled a Marvel on him (again). Optimus sac'd himself, should remain there and make room for a new Prime/leader, frag the "Supreme" theme. But eh, that's just me *shrug*

 

I don't see a problem if it's what they are going to call him not much we cn do anyways.

Prime isn't any more or less silly sounding, they both mean important.

 

He is already better then his brothers.
He served as a source of morale and unity amongst the Thirteen.
And he is the Cybertronian Jesus/Osiris. The god of afterlife and rebirth  

 

He's the only one alive in every continuity too isn't he, must be doing something right.

 

Well their was Vector Prime, he was around for almost the whole show....yeah this isn't really going anywhere. Just wanted to bring him up.

 

I don't like it.

 

If Optimus Supreme were the name of a combined mode between Optimus Prime and Omega Supreme I'd be fine with it. It's not the most creative name for a combined mode but it's better than nothing.

Optimus being renamed when he's just a ghost though is pretty freaking stupid. And where did you hear this from anyway? In the previews I've seen Bumblebee still calls him Optimus Prime.

That was before the whole 13 primes idea was ever in the universe.

 

I'm not real keen on it. My first thought was "How cheesy" with a little "That sounds ridiculous" mixed in.

It may be perhaps I've known him so long as Optimus Prime I just can't see him being called anything else. Ehhhhh no, it just sounds ridiculous.  

 

True. Though Vector Prime and the Fallen from Dreamwave did inspire the concept of the 13.

 

Um... the source give in that thread doesn't have any Character profiles on it. The only thing on that page is a general synopsis of the series which still calls him Optimus Prime and four preview videos.

 

As mentioned already, they've unfortunately removed the profiles at this point.

I think the new name sounds absolutely ridiculous. As others have said Orion Pax or just Optimus would have been fine.
