I love when tv series do something new, particularly with decepticons, I have a feeling I'll really love steeljaw

I dont quite recall a lobster themed deepticon in the movies

 

Due to the Bayverse Decepticons, we shouldn't hope Transformers tries new things in the TV shows as time goes on?

 

I'm talking about Decepticons with beast like robot modes in general.

My point is, it's not new at all. Plus, this series is made by the same people who wrote the first two movies.

No, I'm not against new things at all. I think Rescue Bots and MTMTE are the best Transformers fiction from the last few years and it'd be hard for them to be any more different from what TF usually is like.

There was a brief period of time when I thought what this show is doing with the 'Cons was different. I got excited at the idea of this show being as good as RB and MTMTE then remembered that the movies existed and went back to my opinion that all 'Cons being beasts is a bad concept.

 

Much as I liked Prime, I'm also having a lot of trouble getting interested in this series. The main problem for me is that the toys look atrocious. I'm primarily a toy collector, with the associated media being an interesting curiousity, so if the toys aren't any good I'm not as enthusiastic about the media. If the toyline is godawful, then show has to be incredibly good to make up for it; Beast Machines and Animated had atrocious toylines, but the media was good enough to make up for it.

I'm also having a lot of trouble getting used to the show's animation style. And hearing Sideswipe described as 'like Deadpool' knocked down my interest a bit more since I hate Deadpool.

 

Well, speaking for myself, I'm interested to see what this will do.

As a Transformers fan, I'm always interested at least a little bit in new media. I think the Beast like cons could be cool. Maybe there is a story reason for their animal like designs? We haven't even seen any other cons yet. For all we know the guys on the prison ship are unique.

My way of doing things? Give it a chance, maybe five episodes at least. If you feel you can't make it through those, well, that's fine.

That's what I like about large, diverse franchises. No one has to like the same things.

Guess we should blame voice actors for being black, eh? I mean, how dare they, right?

To a lesser extent Sideswipe is barely a teenager, or annoying. We've heard one line from him in the trailer, and it was a mature: "I'm good." In response to gearing up for a mission. It was rebellious in the simplest sense, but it's not like he was jacking off and smoking pot in a basement or anything. He's also supposed to be 'cool under pressure', I don't know what else to say.

 

On the plus side, I like how everyone has combat masks.

 

You're not the only one. I'm not psyched about the new Transformers series either. If this is supposed to be a reboot, than so be it, but is this supposed to be a follow up series to TFP, with what we've seen so far, I can't imagine this being a good spinoff series to Prime.
I'll give it its chance, but the toys also aren't thrilling me either.
I might be able to save up some $$ this year.

You've got your "token monster of the week plot", "token lawgirl", "token rebel", "token nerd", "token black guy that's not black nor a human-guy, but is voiced by one so it totally counts even though having a token black guy is not an issue in the first place", oh, and you can't forget your "token main character".

 

Well then, good for you. But since it's by the people who made Prime, it's likely I won't.

 

I love prime for it's dark overtones. RID2015 is way too animated for my tastes.
Optimus is just going to pull a Disney and come back to life which is used way too many times.

 

that's my issue. i dont mind if the cons turned to beasts as the theme of the show but truck turns to wolfman and i dont get it. it's like power ranger villians.

i think the description of sideswipe is horrible and i really dont like the direction they're taking one of my favorites....this "deadpool" crap is annoying. he's a smart ass and is red...that isnt deadpool's only trait nor should it be sideswipes.

im gonna watch the show and give it it's fair chance like i do with every tf show. if it's good i'll watch it in spite of a character i can't stand (like bumblebee from animated. ooooo god i wanted him to die)
