    Same Here.

I'm just saddened people aren't excited for a new cartoon. Then again this fandom does have a lot against being excited for new things.

Glad I'm not the only one. The influx of new characters alone should be getting people excited. It's not just a retread of all the usual names and faces.

I get that the art style isn't appealing to some people, but to say that G1's animation was better with its 4 frames per second is rose-tinted glasses at its best. RID2 already looks much smoother than that.

And comparing it to Energon's crap animation- again, no. The mouth movements and facial expressions already show more range than the entirety of Energon ever did. Even characters like Bisque, who didn't show much variety in mouth movements, had those crazy eye-stalks stretching and squashing and looking every which way.
And compare any walk cycle in Energon to the shot of Strongarm rejoining the group after scanning an alt mode. Notice how her feet and ankles flex and move the way you would expect someone's foot to? Now go watch Ironhide "moonwalk" in Energon a few times and tell me RID2 is still on par with that.

The animation is fine. Maybe it's not on par with TFP or Clone Wars or whatever, but it's still better than both Energon and Cybertron's animation from what I've seen so far.

Not liking the art style is a totally valid opinion, because that cel-shaded look isn't going to appeal to everyone (and I still think the kid looks weird. . . but I dig his dad's hawaiian shirt!). But art style and animation are two totally different things.

Finally took a look at the preview clips...Seems like a rather milk toast kinda kids toon. Rescue Bots seemed more interesting then this.

All the character's personalites have this really weirdly stiff delivery, like they're all reading their lines off a teleprompter.

I hate Bisk. And I don't even really care about his odd lobster design, I just find his weird competitive thing in where he's keeping some kind of arbitrary score really annoying.

I'm really hoping once it airs, people will be won over.

It didn't happen suddenly at all. Regulations changed. Laws changed. The culture changed. This stands to reason, because the 80s was a longass time ago. A LONGASS time ago. To the point that movies set in the 1980s have officially become period pieces, just like Downton Abbey or That 70's Show. So yeah, there have been some changes between now and then.

In the 80's, PG movies could have a scene where a guy's heart was ripped out of his chest, on screen and in graphic detail. Now we have a whole new classification for film ratings. PG-13 exists so there can be a few more steps in between a kiddie movie and an adult movie. Television ratings have changed, too. We now have Y, Y-7, MA, and the like. When producers have a show made, they have to decide what audience they are going to go for, and then they have to stay within the guidelines of that rating. There are still plenty of cartoons being made with war and violence, but they have a different audience, a different rating, and most likely a different channel or timeslot than RID.

Cartoons no longer exist in a single nebulous blob on Saturday mornings or after school. They are treated as individual shows with different content and different demographics. I like to think that's progress. It's better than the days of everything being thought of as "kid's stuff" to the point that absolutely nobody was paying attention to quality or content control.

    No.

I like that we're getting a Grimlock that isn't just some dumb hulking brute who speaks like a caveman.

I tried to get excited about the new show, watching the clips a few times and reviewing pics of the figures and whatnot.
Didn't work. Wish it did, but it didn't.
Prime ended up disappointing me with all the killed plot points and treasure hunts. This new show, being a follow up, worries me that it'll be a lot of the same.
I'll give it a chance, but won't hold any high hopes for it.
Also, the animation bothers me. I've never liked that style, so that's already a negative in my book.
As for the styles of the bots, Sideswipe's 'hair' looks ridiculous. I'm also not fond of Bisque, so we'll see how that goes.
