and I'm glad that I got over how I felt about their designs, initially. The series is fantastic, and I love the portrayal of each character, especially Starscream. He's always been my favorite character (aside from Hot Rod/imus and Prowl). He's still the incompetent crybaby that I've always loved :lol , and I just adore Knock Out. His narcissism is hilarious.

I just started watching Animated, today, and it seems ok. Hopefully, it picks up after a few more episodes like Prime.

I suppose it is time somebody openned a thread "I just watchet TF Prime" for every nameless specimen that posts here. And brought it to the top.

verozilla, speaking about StarScream, do you mean Steve Blum's particular contribution to the character?

Well, this is the Prime forum, so it's not surprising that there are a lot of "I just watched it" and "Should I watch it?" threads. It would be more convenient, though, to have sticky thread for both types of posts.

Anyway, Blume's contribution to the character was the icing on the cake considering that he provided the voice acting to another beloved character of mine, Spike Spiegel.

I absolutely loved Prime. The animation was beautiful. It was probably my favorite version of Starscream. Prime is definitely in my top five favorite action cartoons of all time. I've got it right up there with Beast Wars/Machines, Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, and the 4Kids Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Not quite sure what the fifth show would be. Oh, and they're not necessarily in that order.

Mine, too! Well, he kind of goes toe to toe with IDW Screamer, but that's only because IDW sent him into a different direction. I really hope that he ends up a great leader. I doubt it since he IS Starscream, after all.

Speaking of Beast Machines, I couldn't help to think that Knock Out's changing tones of voice reminds me of Jetstorm. Maybe it's just me, though.

i'm shocked someone who is a fan of MTMTE can even begin to even enjoy the complete trash that is transformers prime

i guess the impossible is possible sometimes, though it is a shame

also animated is better than prime in every aspect

Cool beans. Glad you had fun with it :)

Shocking indeed. It's almost as if as they have a different perception of TFP's entertainment factor than you.

Right? I'm pretty happy that I can indulge in different incarnations without having the need to compare. I enjoy each series as their own independent work.

Oh, totally. I've lurked here long enough to see it. :)

I'm used to it, though. The majority of my closest friends that I've known for 10+ years are like that. It's always fun to jump into their series-bashing conversations and say, "Well... I liked it."

Yup TF Prime is the best TF show to date with IDW being the best TF continuity ever.

I love them both and don't bother picking sides.

PS Animated is very good too definitely in top 5 TF shows.

Happy to hear you liked it. And yes, Starscream was quite entertaining in this incarnation. I know I enjoyed him immensely.

I was often frustrated by TFP and what they did with the show vs what they could have done.

I'm talking about GeeWhunning it. My issue is setting some many interesting premises up and then allowing them to either drag on too far or fizzle out with no impact at all.

There was very little long lasting impact to any critical story aspects namely: Bulkhead being never likely to recover from his injuries; Optimus in critical condition; Megatron's darkmount and let us not forget the wild goose chase that was the relic hunt.

I liked the designs and the characters, I just found them often under utilized.

There was also a major lack of consistency. When Megatron first confronted an Insecticon he barely survived yet when they arrived in force they would be defeated very easily.

This is a terrifically wide-spread feature. You could face it in any shows, series, animes, cartoons and so on.
I came to explain it to me this way: the first time you meet a new opponent, you might feel unprepaired and vulnerable to their strong powers and actions. But the more you fight them, the more you learn about their behaviour- you feel more confident and gain some experience about what will work with them and what will not. Thus, every time you face the same kind of opponent, it takes you less time to deal with them.
Megatron regained his battle experiences with the Insecticons, then he was able to fight stronger Predaking.
As why Megatron and the Autobots were the ones to be able to use this experience, while the same Insecticons were dying instead of doing the same: well, let's say that if the Decepticons and the Autobots have survived the War on Cybertron, then they really are warriors. And the Insecticons may have been too confident because of their nature and size.

If you tend to beat one video game many times, you might also notice that your time for defeating some "main bosses" is decreasing.
I can say the same about myself, in a way.

Sure I know this isn't uncommon in animated shows but it raises expectations and then lowers them which is disappointing.

On retrospect, the insecticon swarm might have been better placed as being 5 of them all extremely tough instead of 100's who fell too easily.

The Bulkhead thing irked me. He was setup to be crippled and never be the same again but soon enough he was exactly the same again.

    That's right.
And, yes, the Bulkhead's story was a dirty lie. Or Ratchet is an awful doctor, having no clue, how the TFs' bodies work.

I thoroughly enjoyed Prime for what it was. My oldest daughter and I spent many Fridays on the couch together watching and enjoying the newest episode week after week.

But what made it best was the truly EPIC bitching that erupted after each and every episode from those who hated it so much they had to watch every lousy minute :lol

And yes, you will enjoy Animated. Particularly the final season, that was great fun.
