I haven't been following Transformers Prime, but it seems it has come to an end? Can someone clarify if both the tv series and the towline is truly at an end?
Predacons Rising was the last thing for the show, and that was back in October or so. There's some toys still trickling out I think, but basically it's all done, we've already got early promo art for the next show.
Prime is over and done with, with just a few toys still just getting released in the UK that are suffering end-of-line syndrome. The show was meh. I watched it from beginning to end, through it's many, many flaws and it's really solid and great moments. Ultimately while the animation, voice acting, and few original concepts were good, the show was brought down by its overabundance of relic hunts, status quo, crappy writing, abandoned or rushed plots, underdeveloped characters, and poor sound design (Arcee and Megatron, despite being stories in difference in size, both make the same noise of footsteps when they walk). Prime ranks as probably the fifth best series under Animated, Beast Wars, Beast Machines, and G1. The toyline was a bit spotty but the good seemed to outweigh the bad, especially in its' outstanding Cyberverse line of Commander and Legion class toys. There weren't too many flops there until the Beast Hunters overhaul in 2013. The Beast Hunters line had an uphill battle since kids only saw Predaking on the show instead of all the non-show Predacons, and Darksteel and Skylynx only came around at the very end of the line and were minor characters anyway; plus the toys were getting cheaper and smaller. Prime overall wasn't a huge success story, but when it got its' shit together in the show or on the shelves, it got its' shit together. Sad to say that wasn't often. The Prime franchise overall is a 2.5 out of 5.
