The description for the episode is that Jack gets a new partner, if I remember right.

I'd be perfectly fine with this, to be honest. Don't really like Smokescreen's body-type, but that's just personal preference. hopefully we see something more tham 'new guy what doesn't know anything' like say Armada Sideswipe. .

I recall - vaguely - some mention of a human character getting a new partner (almost 3 am here so please forgive the lack of my usual thoroughness). The basis for this is two sequential actions from the last few episodes: Bulkhead has been temporarily sidelined and his partner Miko had a deep and meaningful conversation with Arcee, which formed the narative framework for last week's episode.

Of course these factors count more for those who saw the news and latched onto it (perhaps it was in an episode description). For those who do it'd seem Miko and Arcee get paired and Jack forms a partnership with a cahracter who has conveniently just arrived. That's a theory, anyway.

Not that I'm a huge fan of the humans in the first place, but if they have to stay, I'm not too into that scenario.

Pretty much this. And yet, I find a bit odd about Jack changing partners so easy, considering he is the one with the most developed bond (Arcee is the only guardian who practically lives in his protégé´s house, and June practically welcomed her into the family). I was expecting at least some jealousy regarding Miko.

I think it will only be until Bulk fully recovers.
And if Smokescreen is a hotheaded think before I act kind of guy, then Jack is the perfect partner for him.
