Episode 43 "Out of the Past" Discussion

Can't wait to see Cliffjumper again! Also that Arcee tells Miko more of her past to help her!

Shockwave should be very interesting to see in the episode.

Anyway, that is something I've noticed with the advertising of this episode, it seems to primarily focus on "DA TRIUMPHANT RETURN OF CALEEEEEFFFJOOOOMPAAAAAAHHHH!!!!!!" rather than "This is Shockwave. He's our new friend. Say hello Shockwave. Oh and Cliffjumper's back too." the promos for Loose Cannons did a similar thing, putting more emphasis on Wheeljack being back than on the introduction of Dreadwing. I guess kids care more about the good guys than they do about the bad guys.

He was seen alive in the episode "Predatory" as well, even if it was only 5-10 seconds.

I have always Likes the bad guys - I know some kids don't and they like to wish-play as the heroes - but I see it as being a bit pointless even if you like heroes to not have anyone for them to fight - Batman wouldn't be much without his villans - those 70's comics where he fights regular crime bosses and thugs were a bit dull (important in the decamping process - but still dull).

I have a softspot for Doc Terror and Hacker, Miles Mayhem, Lester Sludge, Sly Rax and Vanessa Warfield, Cobra Commander, Destro, The Baroness, Stormshadow and The Dreadnocks - and naturally the Decepticons.

If I was to go all Nostalgic about Transformers from the past I'd probably be throwing out a lot of names of characters sporting purple logos. and I do think my Favourite Character in Prime is Knockout (though I like Ratchet too).

And I find that I have a more special feeling buying a new Decepticon than I do an Autobot (in some cases) - There are exceptions to that if it's a key character or someone who's not had a toy for a while - or the toy does some really cool stuff (like say Cybertron Quickmix).

I was sorting my shelf out yesterday and I did seem to be pulling off a lot of Decepticons off there.

Why do I sort of expect Shockwave to not die in the flashback, but maybe leave Starscream's command, probably with some sort of conspiracy in mind... after all, he's been previously shown(other versions of him) to want to lead the cons too.

I wonder if they'll mention Grimlock in the episode? After all it may explain how Shockwave's left arm got replaced by an arm cannon if they follow his character and backstory from Fall of Cybertron.

Can't wait for the episode! Shockwave is probably gonna rock, and hopefully they'll manage to introduce him into the present, maybe through the season finale.

I'm looking forward to seeing Cliffjumper again and I am very interested in seeing the story that is going to be used to introduce Shockwave.

I like that they're actualy telling what seems to be an adaptation of the prequel comic in the show itself. I don't really like extra material, not everybody reads comics, things that happen should show up the screen proper, animated and voice acted.
