It's not really bringing a character back to life because this is really a clone of the original and the original can stay dead. It's a loophole in a way.

with the cloning, as demonstrated by starscream, isn't most of a body required? and if they are cloned, it's instantaneous. I feel that them saying the new cliffjumper was "hanging out in the back room in every other episode" would be really cheap writing, and would just be stupid.

It would be but was brining Ripcord back in GI Joe Renegades as half Bio-Viper a bad thing. I thought it was cool and let's face it we need new blood even if it was a clone of a dude who bit the dust too soon.

it requires Energon that has been running through the bot to be cloned. I don't think it would work from his horn remnant.

exactly. plus, we have no idea what dark energon would do with the cloning process......
