I've been noticing throughout the series Vehicons die. Lots of them. Especially the Con Job crew if Vehicons. But what seems odd is they never seem to run out.

Is there any explanation as to why they never run out?

From what we saw in the last episode, it seems like the Decepticons use protoforms to clone and mass-produce Vehicons. My guess is they have a large supply of protoforms on board the Nemesis. Whenever they need more troops, Knockout or whoever throws a switch and there they are.

Does this mean there is an original Steve on board the Nemesis in stasis? Cause as science fiction has taught us over the years, a clone of a clone is vastly inferior to a clone of an original.

Pretty much what I'm thinking. Megatron must have protoforms wedged in every nook and cranny of the Nemesis.

Or more gruesomely, decepticons harvest corpses and recycle them into easy to produce Vehicons. They aren't terrorcons as they are as alive (if a lot dumber and weaker) as any other Cybertronian. It would explain why there is a literally infinite number of them. Arcee just keeps killing Steve over and over and over...

Totally just imagined the original Steve as some sort of Gravemind from Halo.

Of course if you reverse engineer this theory, if the clone of a clone of a clone is so weak, what if the original is super bad ass powerful?

For some reason I imagine Megatron has a giant copy machine in the ship somewhere, probably stolen from Gallaxhar.

No wonder they got easier to kill; constant recycling has removed their combat experience, so to speak.

Also, it is psychologically terrifying and I think it's a very possible idea.

You know what'd be funny, is if they cloned the Vehicons from like a master Vehicon, an original, identical to all the rest, who they used to clone the troops from. But he was like an eccentric personality which is why the clones all come out different. And they had him in a room hooked up to this machine, but instead of like a horrible creepy "Oh they clone me and my life is pain it hurts to talk and look at things" he's just sitting in a chair reading a magazine with a bunch of tubes in his head connected to a machine, and every once in a while a Vehicon brings him a new one and a glass of energon.

The Decepticons cloned the only guy that they knew wouldn't require facial animation.

I think they stole it from Timmy Turner.

This thing brought Darth Vader to life.

Well, technically Dark Laser, but let's not get technical.
