Before Cliffjumper's body was destroyed, Megatron kept part of his spark contained for a special occasion, along with certain other organs & parts. It doesn't really matter how or why, but he did it off screen. Then in an attempt to explain Knockout's absence as of late & strengthen his hold over Dreadwing (as he senses that raising the soldier's fallen brother from the dead will surely earn his servitude, while keeping Skyquake's life in his hands for a fallback measure), Megatron instructs Knockout & Soundwave locate Skyquake in the Shadowzone (Soundwave's powers let him do this) & rebuild him (this is mostly Knockout's craft). However, in a cliched turnabout!, the section of Cliffjumper's spark wasn't actually purged as they'd thought, and once in a while, the new Skyquake acts out of character, and as a result, ultimately sacrificing himself to save the earth or something while saying one of Cliff's "have the horns" lines or whatever. In doing this, we stretch the Depth Charge/Rampage/Dinobot homage, as well as give Hasbro a reason to bring back 2 fallen characters & sell more toys in the process. Quote:

So tell me, how do you bring him back then? Its kind of hard to remove dark energon from a body that might of been reduce to nothing from the explosion.
