TF Prime and War For Cybertron

searched a bit for a thread related to this on the boards and didn't find one.

is it any what official this cartoon ties in with WFC? is this fact or speculation?
I have seen some posts in wikis http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Soundwave_%28Prime%29 and such speculating this and it made me curious..

and if it is in fact tied in, what happened to these characters? they got some serious downgrades to designs compared to the games, especially the Decepticons.

(Upon further looking later in the night I found one /facepalm)

Thanks!.. I don't understand how the designs are so disconnected, I know its earth modes now and such, but wow, throughout most continuities even if they change alt modes the heads generally stay very close in design over the years.

didn't think about that, that would have made it a total last minute decision as it seems the two were in development basically at the same time.

Pity as well, imagine what the end results could have been had they actually been produced truly side by side.

Hasbro has claimed that War for Cybertron, the book Transformers: Exodus, and Prime are all one continuity.

Ignore that.

These products have nothing to do with each other. One did not reference the other. They do not interact at all. They are made by completely separate groups without input from the others. They may use similar themes or nod to others but they have nothing to do with each other.

Hasbro is merely trying to cover their bases and claim everything is one continuity. I'm surprised they haven't claimed Animated to be part of Prime yet.

^ No, no, no, Hasbro's not quite crazy enough to claim Animated is part of Prime. Now, Takara, on the other hand...

Confused. Hasbro has also stated WFC was direct prequel to the G1 TV show as well, so how can both TV shows be the same continuity? Although if the show brings in more G1 characters, I think its gonna be great.
