Hey dudes, watched Transformers Prime last night and thought it was epic, brought me back to my Beast Wars days. When I started seeing the promos early on I knew that Cliffjumper was going to be my favorite, he had an awesome bot mode and car mode. As I was watching I noticed that he was voiced by you know who;)  It really didnt matter to me but it was kinda cool, and then the unthinkable happened......but it didnt end there, he was about to get revived and I was thinking oh man this is going to be awesome, but then robbed again:( so dudes this topic is in loving memory of Cliffjumper, share your memories dudes and even your thoughts on whether or not Cliff will return......

He won't return. It was nice to have the Rock as a guest-star. I liked the character, but his death was meaningful and accomplished what it was intended to, so all in all, he was a successful, albeit brief character

I liked Cliffjumper quite a bit, but I can't see Cliffjumper returning at all, save for possibly a flashback episode. I mean, he was killed, turned into a zombie, cut in half, dropped several stories, then was in the middle of a massive Energon explosion.

I don't think you "get better" from that :lol .

Still, he was fun while he lasted.

What was meaningful about that? that whole scene was a sham.
Oh look, it's a representation of a character that has not made a meaningful appearance in 20 years, wow he won't be missed if we kill him.. cowards.

you want to make that scene meaningful, you put Bumblebee in there, then it means something.. then it shows some backbone.

I'm confused, Prime's only just started, how could any of the characters not put in an appearance in 20 years? You'll have to point out the cowardice in there while you're at it.

    cute.

It was however a doomed character from the word go, they could have saved him for sparce appearances through out the series, I just didn't connect with the worth of that whole scene.

Maybe my view is a little tainted by the fact old CJ was one of my favorite Autobots from back in the day and he Finallly gets a scene on TV again for the first time in 20 years just to get wasted by stupid drones... its infuriating

You can always get more Cliff from flashback scenes. Plus who knows, they may master dark energon use and figure something out. Wouldn't be the first time. Plus they invested money into developing his character model, only logical that they get as much use out of it.

Yeah dude I know I dont know how many times they wanted to kill him, and i found it kinda ironic due to the rock voicing him......

Well...in his promo video, they do say he's hard to take down.

I think we'll see Cliff in the future again, either in flashbacks, or some deux ex machina.

EDIT: Or even if we don't see him revived, I have a feeling he'll at least be the "Comedian" (via Watchmen) of the series, he died early on, but his previous interactions with the characters left a huge mark on all of them.

I can understand where you're coming from - however, I'd be surprised if we've seen the last of CJ at this stage (fingers crossed).

DUDE exactly that is what i thought, you wouldnt design this character and spend money just to have him die within the first 5 min.....

they kinda disintegrated his whole body when the mines blew though, there is nothing left to resurrect:(  (well the one person up a few posts beat me to that lol)

I agree with all the money they put into the model meaning the character should return, but I don't see how anymore.

    flashbacks only probably

Exactly, if they wanted a red shirt character (ironically, Cliff is red) they could have done a much more simple render. I'm betting that he'll stay dead for sometime if they do intend to bring him back just to get the consequence of death across.

Depends what state his body's in now - from what we saw at the end (with the 'claw') dark energon can reactivate even small fragments. Also, we only know what happened to half of CJ - the other half was never seen again after Megatron sliced it.

the other half was his legs, and they would have been in the mine as well as the top.

the state of his body is vapor floating through the air eventually to be rained down as pollution running down random streams and rivers lol

Well all too often in cartoons you get that character that everyone thought died in some horrible accident but makes it back. Morph from the 90's X-Men anyone? Megatron from BM survived the Plasma Energy Chamber, granted he was Megatron but still.

Alas poor Cliffjumper, we hardly knew him.

...Which is true, cause they killed him in the first epsiode.

thats true, but usually there is a backdoor or not obvious escape route, he was cut in half, zombiefied, deactivated aand sitting on top of the energon crystals as they basically went nova.

I can't remember the details behind Morph dying anymore, and never watched that far in to BM >.> to see the surroundings.

Arcee did say his body was oozing the Dark Energon, so if even one little scrap of him survived that explosion it could reanimate. Apparently this Dark Energon can also modify the subject, as it transformed Ratchet's tool into a spider-drone of sorts. We'll just have to wait and see what happens, ya know? Tho I must admit the moment I saw Zombie Cliffjumper I immediately thought of Cliffjumper (SG) - Transformers Wiki

PS: Did anyone else think that Eradicon would have shit itself if it could? For not having a face, that thing sure did look scared!

I hope he stays dead. I do want to see more of him, but bringing him back would cheapen the effect it had on Arcee, and it showed that this show has guts. If he comes back, I hope it's through flashbacks only.
