Will RID be replaced by a Beast Wars type cartoon in 2016?

I know there's been suggestion of RID getting a second season, but a while back we were shown a chart that revealed plans for a new cartoon in 2015 (now revealed to be Robots in Disguise), a second cartoon in 2016 and a new TF movie in 2017.

Now, plans do change but 2016 is the 20th anniversary of Beast Wars, and Hasbro does quite like it's TF anniversaries. Besides, going by Cartoon Network's reputation, I'd be surprised if RID gets another season (though in this case I think I'll want to be surprised).

Would the new cartoon be a sequel to RID? Do the appearances of the 'Cons of RID shown so far hint at things to come? Could the new series run parallel to RID, a bit like Prime and Rescue Bots?

Will 2016 be the year of Beast Wars?

Hmmm I loved Beast Wars but hated Beast Machines so if they were going to do a new series it would be nice if they ignore Beast Machines and just followed on from the end of Beast Wars (Kinda like the Regeneration Comics continue on from the original Marvel Series and ignored the Generation 2 Comics).

Wishful thinking I know but a guy can dream.

Wouldn't be so bad. Generations could focus on that as well and I could save money. And when a new mold Generations Lio Convoy comes up, I can finally get him :)

Buuut, before I need a new Rodimus and Galvatron. Great, that is.

As long as the characters have more of their Beast Wars personality, hated how they represented the characters in Beast Machines, every time Rattrap whinged I just though "Shut up Rattrap".

I'd expect a series about Beastformers set in the Prime continuity. I'm seeing the RID Decepticons as something of an experiment - Transformers with vehicle alt-modes and beast-like robot modes.

If we do get a new version of Beast Wars, it might not be what we expect.

Anyway, I hope Generations 2016 gives us a better version of Cheetor.

I very much doubt it. Hasbro won't make an entire cartoon just tie into an anniversary that only the small group that is the TF fandom will celebrate. There wasn't even a cartoon this year to celebrate thirtieth anniversary of the entire Transformers franchise.

Hey come on! The designs are beautiful compared to animated.

Id be scared if they do a rebot/remake of beast wars. It just wouldnt be the same.

Hmm, BW style show would mean an entire line of beast toys.

I'll pass, but I'll happily watch the show.

I hope so. If they do a new Beast themed cartoon I'd like to see Beast modes that haven't been made before like variants of Apes to the point where I can have an army of Apes.

Rise of the Planet of the Optimus Primals.

I would love to see something, but with new characters.

Honestly, some series has later had better versions of characters that originated from the 80's. To this day I still have Animated Optimus Prime as my ideal version, same as Blitzwing and the Decepticon Megatron.

But it be hard to improve upon Dinobot, Beast Wars Megatron, Rhinox, and so on. Which is why new characters would be critical for a new series. They could always appear on the toy side.

    I don't think so.

I've heard RID is intended to last 78 episodes and up until 2018.

What made Beast Wars special were the characters people loved, and that's the only thing I want to see a return of. The story of Beast Wars never needs to be remade.

Rhinox is going to make an appearance in the next issue of IDW's RID, and I want to see more Beast Wars characters thrown into the IDW G1 canon. We've already seen Waspinator and Rattrap, but I want to see Dinobot fighting Grimlock.

This new RID cartoon, I want to see it last at least three seasons and live on as it's own cartoon, it's too good right now to cancel it after one year. But knowing cartoon network, it won't last a year.
