I'm disappointed... Hot Toys could have done a better job. This is not a good G1 Optimus Prime and to tag it as Starscream version is beyond me. Instead of the "Wings" they should have just added a truck form for great display but that's just me.

 

Dayum I want this but I think it'd bit more than I'd be willing to spend.

 

Maybe more casual fans outside of the fandom will dig this, but it just doesn't seem to have the type of appeal to me as MP-10.

 

For those who buy two Masterpiece figures to display each mode, this could be a nice alternative. But the wtf Starscream accessories temper my enthusiasm. If it is $300 USD, that is too high.

 

I guess I missed a storyline somewhere, but as far as the figure goes I really like the look. Im kind of tired of Transformers being so clean all the time. The lack of transformation does not bother me one way or another, would have been super cool if it could but HT might be to fragile for that. I like it though, might pick it up.

 

It'll probably be higher honestly. Feeling $320.

Also, to everyone upset about the Screamer accessories, you really they basically took the G1 design and applied the Movieverse personality right? They're trying to appeal to everyone. I like it strictly because it's so fucked up.

 

I wonder if Hot Toys are getting into the giant robot game because ThreeZero are doing Titanfall Titans, Mazinger Z and Zoids? It's difficult to tell if it has more articulation than MP-10, like maybe an ab-crunch? That would certainly be cool. And the eyes might light up (they look lit in the photos). Also I do like the weathering on it, more so than ThreeZero's hyper-weathered figures... if they can pull that off in production.

 

As a fan and semi-collector of Hot Toys products... I'd rather spend the money on two Black Widows to this Optimus Prime with wing carnage.

 

I collect HT and if it's $281 in HK then you can expect it to be $350 in the US from Sideshow.

Starscream parts are a waste of time but my problem are the proportions are all wrong? He looks squashed. They should have done a true G1 but maybe they didn't have the license to do that. The paint job is great though.

Will wait and see.

wow.. this is pretty awesome.. though, i'd like to see them do movie figures instead since masterpiece is covering G1.

also, i'd definitely be more sold on this if his hips/thighs were white.

 

I'll get another MP-10 before this, lol.

I really like this! I'm digging the "movie Prime attitude meets G1 Prime body". I looks like he just got sick of Starscream's crap, tore him apart and is using his corpse to chase after Megatron for the final showdown!

 

They should make skyfire prime, no starscream prime.  

 

I don't understand why people keep asking/complaining abut the Starscream parts. There's a full explanation of why those parts are there in the description. I personally think it's kind of a cool touch and nice attention to detail. Sure it doesn't transform. Is that really a big deal? So don't buy it. I'll buy it and appreciate it. I rarely transform my MP's out of robot mode anyway so it's really not THAT different.
