Well, this should be from TF@The Moon, so here's the other link: http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/news_story_3585.html

I don't know, but I think this may be a really bad thing for us fans.

i would doubt this report's validity, just on grounds of common sense.

If you don't trust TF@TM, you could always look it up at the US Patent and Trademark office's public website.

It's true. The "Transformers Cybertron" trademark is still "live", though...

So, what the hell are they gonna call Cybertron in the movie? Gobotron?

Sounds like somebody in the Hasbro legal department dropped the ball.

They can easily call it "Cybertron" in the movie. Remember how Dreamwave was able to use names such as "Bluestreak", "Hot Rod" and "Shockwave", none of which Hasbro owned as trademarks at that point.

The only thing Hasbro couldn't do was being able to use the word in ADVERTISING and being able to defend it in court (just to avoid confusion: they could use it in advertising, but they couldn't use it in advertising AND being able to defend it in court, if you understand what I mean).

I trust common sense more than I trust a stanger that puts out a website. If this came from someone like the Hartmans or Ben Yee, I'd trust it, because I trust them and I know they actually HAVE sources at Hasbro.

I'll wait for Aaron to clarify this "news" before I believe it. Hasbro gets crapped on a lot for making what fans think are stupid moves, but to blindly trust some random website with "news" of this calibre? Not without more than this.

Weren't you the one also using the patent site to justify the argument that Hasbro hadn't finally succeeded in getting the rights to the Bumblebee name back just a few weeks back? And yet:

Bumblebee TM Large as life. Even has a Classics toys coming with his proper name.

Not gettin' in your face about it. I'm just thinkin' that the patent site isn't as up to date as these so-called breaking news stories would appear.

this would be as stupid as them abandoning Optimus Prime. It's the name of their home plant. They are NUTS to abandon it.

ya know i just mentioned lightening up, but also called you a TF guru, and here you flex those guru muscles! you said the same thing i was going to say, and yep...it still listed as live, not sure what they would ditch a trademark only a year or two into their 10 trademark.
