Agree with the not disguising part - I wonder if they could have done a better job hiding his obvious truck and bot parts in pen mode...

 

People are going to buy this for use as a pen the same reason why people bought Device Label Ravage for a 2GB USB drive. If you want a good pen, do not buy this. If you want a decent poseable figure, then its not bad.

 

How about just not give him fake truck parts, and let his robot mode come with cues from being an actual comfortable pen? It's like they wanted to make it too complex.

 

yep. I'm planning on keeping him in bot mode anyways..

 

I got mine today and I have to say I love him. He's cute and G1 so he'll fit right in with my collection. I won't be using him as a pen so he will be a great little display piece. The pen aspect is just the novelty value of it for me. *shrugs*

 

^Yup, a nice, stylized G1-esque Prime design that isn't too 'Pat Lee Dreamwave' in nature. He needs some darker paint apps, though..

 

I concur, I think we're overdue for a nice, poseable anime-esque Prime figure. I don't think this new one is for me, but it looks like a real fun toy to be honest. Also, I'm really surprised they even went with the Pat Lee look for the Revoltechs, the usual Yamaguchi treatment would have been great.

 

All these years now, I wish Hasbro would make a Generations Optimus Prime, who looks like this in robot mode and turns into a truck. Wonder why we don't get something like this.

Yeah, he's a Masterpiece Action Master Optimus Prime, that happens to transform into a pen, for the people who apparently don't have enough pens.
