my son will go NUTS for that. very cool, especially if it has a gimmick that spreads the wings like one step stuff.

    Few critiques first to get out of the way;
    - Chest looks good, however the rest lacks detail
    - trailer is too short, would need to buy about 2 more trailers to extend it to be an appropriate length compared to the truck
    - not sure if film-accurate in terms of the jet-pack combo...

Other than those if I liked the design of the toy then this would probably be the version I ended up getting as a non-proportionate trailer is better than no trailer at all. Still hate the incredible simplicity of the designs though... is this the generations leader class prime as it looks like the basic versions targeted at kids in terms of complexity.

Simple- But he is quite well decorated.

Looks ideal to merit from a further 3rd party upgrade of one sort or another too.#

Huge backpack aside the robot mode is quite accurate too.

I like that he comes with a couple of Cade style swords too.

we've already seen this.. these are just better photos.

i remember people trying to argue that it wasn't a new mold.

    well, it clearly is.

    EASY pass.

if hasbro ever brings this to the US.. i know the paint work will look NOTHING like this.

i really hope that their second stab of this version of prime turns out like leader rotf prime.. there just aren't any solid versions of this character at all.

I'm trying REALLY hard to be positive about TF:AOE toys, but even on a good day their Leader Optimus molds seem to indicate 10 years of reverse progress. So it's a trailer that doesn't even form a full trailer, it has what looks to be a very simple transformation, and it becomes wings that you could feasibly make out of LEGO pieces?

It looks like these figures could be a lot of fun if you think of it like an Armada toy, and I don't mean this as a compliment...

Hmm, this is pretty much the only AOE toy to use the finalised character model for Optimus. Everything else uses the older one with the different chest design.

Are they even trying any longer?

I mean, now they leave huge glaring holes in the trailer? What is this thing gonna cost? $150?

Wow. Sure it transforms, into a gappy hollow mess. Isn't the idea of Transformers to Transform into something that may exist to stay hidden?

It's only a quick change gimmick toy, but by all means let's burn down the neighborhood in disgust.

I don't know, this one is kind of cracking me up. And I'm a sucker for car-carrying trailer Transformers. Even one this bad, carrying a Bumblebee this bad. And the standing on his shoulders thing is even funnier.

I doubt I can justify the $70, but I will be in Japan when this gets released, so who knows. If all of the AOE Optimus figures so far have been terrible, this one at least has a kitschy sense of fun to it.

The wings really do look terrible, but whatever.
