I'd much rather have a Hot Rod scaled back to the size of Prowl and co. Forget the Rodimus Prime conversion.

Seriously? He's valuable, but not that valuable. This auction just ended yesterday at £185.

Hopefully I can grab a Takara MP-11 from AE for closer to $100. $200 for the Asia release was just too much for me.

I don't believe anyone mentioned how the MP-10 reissue will be a version 2. Does this mean some of the problems with version 1 have been corrected? My MP-10B this seems to be the case. If so I will be getting this for sure.

That's encouraging news if true. I need an extra MP-10 and missed out on the re-issue that came with the stand, so I'm all over this when/if it happens.

yknow. its like every single masterpiece that comes out gets at least 3 re-issues. It kinda makes the "oh wow, you have that certain MP, kudos to you for getting it when it came out cuz now you cant find them anywhere" factor kinda....not there. Granted, it makes them easier to get for collectors, but doesnt this also diminish the value of the originals? And Red Alert is being re-issued this fall...only to be re-issued again a few months later...hm.

It lists MP-10 at 22,000 yen. At the current exchange rate that comes out to $217.25 + international shipping. It's a big box. So assume around $250. If you bargain shop, you can find a Hasbro version for just slightly more than that now. Not all of them go for $300. Unless you really have your heart set on Takara's.

Except that that is not what they sell them for. AE has standard 30% off and HLJ and AmiAmi have anywhere from 20% to 25% off as a standard price point (so 15400jpy to 17600jpy). Shipping would range for that size and weight (based on my experiences) anywhere from $30 to $50 depending on which method you use. So we are talking at the low end about $180 to about $225.

Additionally, they have had some tax changes in Japan recently (from notifications on amiami etc). I don't know a lot about it, but it's also possible that the 22000jpy might be with the new tax rate included. This does not apply to international sales, so it could in fact be even cheaper than my estimates above.

If your worried about the value of your figures being diminished, your collecting for the wrong reason.

Also, this is a good sign that Takara is selling out their production runs. This means the line is successful, the fans that want these figures can obtain them at market value, and Takara will be continuing the line.

MP-10 is called Convoy Version 2. As in, its the second version of the character after MP-01.

MP-10 has always been sub-listed as "Version 2" solely to let the public & retailers know that it's an entirely new Optimus Prime figure and not a re-release of the original MP-01/04. They never did it with MP-11 because it was technically called Coronation Starscream, so that helped differentiate it from prior old-mold versions. But as we're seeing with MP-22, some places are calling it "Perfect Edition", "Complete Edition", etc. to also help ensure no one who can't see pictures of it thinks it's a re-release of the white Prime MP-02 version.

Long story short: The V2 on MP-10 has always been there, and it does not mean anything in way of fixes, revisions, etc.

That is the question. In this post it states MP-10 version 2 is coming. In MP-09's case version 2 corrected the problems with the shin guards and the thin posts on the legs the spoiler tabbed in to.

So I'm speculating this will fix the index finger problem on MP-10, maybe the Matrix chamber, and perhaps the Wind Shield wipers. I would really like to see the eyes get painted like Hasbro's version. But, I guess well have to wait and see what changes are announced.

Also, I'm aware this was MP Optimus Prime version 2, or Convoy version 2 when it was originally released. However this is being posted as MP-10 version 2. That denotes a change from MP-10. And, changes were made to the MP-10B mould to fix some of MP-10's problems.

Couldn't agree more. This is a great sign of how well this line is doing and more importantly that Takara is recognizing how popular it is. I would imagine this gives the line not only a longer life (of this particular vision/iteration), but gives them more freedom to take chances on more characters. Also, this is great for people that are just coming into tf collecting, just finding out about mp's, making the decision to jump into mp's, and needing to get the backlog at a reasonable price. The more the merrier I say and glad to see this kind of progress.
